• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

998cc Radiator - solder or weld a patch in place of the bung (broken)?

Some time back, I had wrung the bung completely out of the radiator in the process of changing coolant. Shrugged shoulders, JB welded the piece in and all was good for a number of years. This last summer, the repair failed and I haven’t been able to get it to stick back in there since, and stop...

    Pyder gone Lame

It started with slamming into gear and stalling. You could get it out of gear with the secret wrench trick (in the manual) but never knew when it would do it again. So, at this juncture is a 2011 RTS, purchased this day, new out of the crate, with every one of the now >62K miles put on by us. The...

    Locked in gear

Experiencing the lockup in gear, stuck in gear and stalling . Saw a thread where the wave spring was the problem. The wave spring appears to be integral with the centrifugal clutch. So,if i replace said clutch, how deep will i need to go before getting involved with clutch shims and all that...

    Imaginary

Lately it seems Pyder has been creeping forward at a stop more than I have seen previously. Roadster is a 2011 SE with a out 64 k miles. Is there an adjustment I've missed? Maybe just a matter of perception..seems like it takes more brake to sit still and shudders like let's go already. What say...

    Lunch Ride

Took a little jaunt to Miller's in Blackville, and no trip in that direction is complete without a visit to Healing Springs. Patrick

    Pyder is well

After the Throttle Body saga and trials, and after BRP stepped up with another TB we rode all day in the rain, just so glad to be back on 3. 420 or so miles, not even a hiccup (if you don't count WTF is up with the new Speedpass code) Planning the Missouri trip for early summer. Planning on...

    Limp

So far, how does the ACE stack up for avoiding limp mode. Any cause will do. My 2011 RTS with 58K has limped on me for the last time thus prompting this query. This post is not to rant or start a rabbit trail about my current RTS problems, simply put is the ACE in an RTS any better off in...

    @#%! Limp Mode

Having gone almost 2 years without a hiccup (after a costly TB replacement) Here we are again with P1120 and P2620 TPS codes. Parked at the shop right now until they open in the a.m. Okay, end of rant. Aside from that had a great riding day... Patrick

    Calling Spyder gurus

The Spyder in question is a 2011 RTS that has developed an annoying habit of losing the LH headlight. Bulb has been replaced with everything from OEM to generic to Silverstar. Most times it's not the bulb. Oh, I replace the RH side at the same time but it never fails like the left. Now for the...

    SS2000

Making ready for underway at 0000 Friday for our SaddleSore 2000. Heading out from Ladson SC to Orange TX, and back before sunday 0000. Pyder is running better than ever, and it looks like weather will cooperate. However, I have yet to go to Florida and not get rained on, but with our raingear...

    Note to self...

Next time you have a desire to see the riverfront in Savannah GA,leave the Pyder topside and walk down. But, thanks to the cobblestone street, I know that nothing is loose on my machine. More than I can say for parts of me and the Mrs. But, the ride to Tybee was worth it, particularly lunch at...

    Long time, no codes

That is until the last few days, finally caught it in the act, PO1120 and matching PO2620 TAS sensor does not match. According to the manual a check or adjustment maybe? Does this require BUDS? Anybody else seen this lately? Oh, enough of the questions, goes into limp mode as well, but after a...

    Rant Vent

Well, the windshield support event was successfully concluded and a big thanks to all for the suggestions and encouragement. So now that's over and I have the battery crapping out again. Put it on the maintainer as usual, a 1.75 amp I have used for a year, fire it up, and click click with the...

    @46K

At 46000 miles, and on the BRP of all places, the windshield support decided to snap. So, as noted on various posts, it would appear that the gizmo in question is not sold as a separate piece. Looks like the entire windshield support has to be purchased. I'm going to try an in situ fix, and...

    The simplest jobs....

In the process of changing coolant went to remove drain and not only did the bolt come out, but the whole shootin match, threaded collar and all. Makes a significant hole in the radiator as well. I mean, it's as if that sucker was welded instead of threaded in. So, JB Weld to the rescue, the...

    GPS Raincoat

I thought I saw a number of posts about GPS waterproofing methods, the sandwich bag among others, so here is my take on the task. It is worth mentioning that we have had rain in one form or another daily for about the last three weeks, and Pyder has not been idle. I must also add that the...

    Fatality in Florence

A Richard Wayne McCaskil, en route from Myrtle Beach motored his 2012 RS into the back of an 18 wheeler and lost. Not wearing a hat, not that it probably would have mattered. Anybody know him? We didn't. Patrick

    PO107

Fault code appeared right after filling up. Curious no? Seems like I remember Scotty saying something about blown or leaky exhaust gaskets could cause a similar condition. Pyder has 34K on the clock so exhaust gasket could be it. I'm taking it in tomorrow (groan) to see what BUDS has to say...
