• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Has anyone seen this before?

The drive belt on my 2009 GS SE5 is showing something strange. As I was getting ready to head home, I happened to look at the rear sprocket and saw what looked like black feathers trapped between the belt and the sprocket. The belt did not seem to be damaged and was in the proper position on...

Is anyone else getting the teaser email from Polaris? I'm not sure how I got on their list, but got what appears to be the second of four emails touting the release of the Polaris Slingshot. The URL indicates they think it is a reverse trike, Two short, one 10 and one 15 second, videos are...

Piaggio by Vespa web site: http://www.piaggiousa.com/scooters.html#!s=home/mp3-250 I saw this scooter on the Science Channel the other day. Vespa has worked out the steering for a rear wheel drive two front wheel machine that leans in the corners. It weighs under 600 pounds, has a 61”...

That was fun! Air box check and oil addition.

This afternoon I rode to my shop where I decided to check my 2009 Spyder GS to see if I was losing oil into the air box. All in all, it was an interesting task. I removed the top cowling, that “Y” shaped piece of Tupperware only has four fasteners, 2 plastic rivets and 2 screws, but getting...

We staged starting shortly after 2 PM and finally got...

    Engine Oil usage

Two weeks ago I brought the oil level in my :f_spider: up to the FULL mark. After a trip to Punta Gorda and Lake Placid I had a total of 470 miles since the fill-up of the oil. Checked the oil level today, it is about 1/4 to 1/3 the way down from FULL. Is this acceptable oil usage. I only have...

Threefeet posted about being rear ended while in a right turn lane waiting for an emergency vehicle to pass:yikes:. The person who rammed him was watching the emergency vehicle and not what was actually in front of them.nojoke This got me to thinking, I'm old enough to remember when the only...

    Hybrids and MPG

A thread on the Hybrid Spyder inspired this, I don't want to high jack that thread, so I will start another. All current hybrid vehicles suffer from the same defect, that being battery technology which hasn't caught up with motor technology. Powerful electrical motors exist that propel vehicles...

    Doing It Myself

I have been feasting after floorboards for my :ani29: practically from the day I got it, but money is always a problem when you are retired. I've seen some floorboards that others did themselves and they inspired me to get to it. This past Sunday, I took :f_spider: to a shop I rent for storage...

Question about BRP Tour Demo at Biketoberfest

I am planning on being at the BRP tent at Biketoberfest on Thursday. This will be my first visit to any bike event. Sanford Bikefest was washed out for me this past weekend :(. 30 + mph winds and driving rain for three days in Melbourne kept me inside. Does the BRP Demo include both versions...

    Biketoberfest Questions

I only live 90 miles south of the Daytona International Speedway. It would be an easy two hour ride for me visit. I have never been to any bike rally, and have some questions, mainly about expenses. I know about tee-shirts and beer, I'm wondering about things like entry fees (tickets) to access...

Again with the soft saddlebags thing

My 2009 RS SE5:f_spider: was purchased last year with the intention of making some lengthy road trips. :2excited:This year I am finally going to start my first road trip.
