• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Check DPS Fault

I'm getting a "Check DPS" warning on start up with fault codes P0551 and P0552 displayed on my 2011 Spyder RT. Any info would be appreciated, even if it's bad news. :yikes:

    2011 Spyder RT SE5 Parts

Can someone please tell me the BRP website for a parts catalogue for my 2011 Spyder RT SE5. The BRP parts website I used to visit seems to have disappeared. Thanks.:f_spider:

    Odyssey PC 680 Battery

The Odyssey PC680 seems to be the favored replacement battery for my 2011 RT. Will I need battery terminal converters of any kind to attach it to the Spyder's electrics or will the PC680 just hook up to what is already there?

    Smoked chrome spray paint?

Caught one of my front wheels rims against the kerb. Not a lot of damage but it doesn't take much to spoil the look of the Spyder. Anyone know of an aerosol paint supplier who has that "smoked chrome" look in a spray can?

    Coolant filling tip

I recently replaced the coolant on my RT and found getting the new coolant into the expansion tank without spills needed a little ingenuity so here is a photo of my string, funnel and hose contraption! ;)

    Transmission filter change?

Today I made a 100 mile trip by car to a UK Can-Am dealer to pick up filter(s) for an oil change. When I was supplied with only an engine oil filter I asked for a transmission filter, too, believing both should be changed at the same time. A few seconds on the computer and I was given the news...

Uneven load when jacking the RT

Using the spar which runs centrally underneath the RT as a jacking point, when I jack my RT the right wheel and rear wheel raises but the left stays down. The left side of the RT behaves as though it is a good deal heavier than the right. What I'm looking for is confirmation that other owners...

    What is it?

A little while ago Capt Black posted an article from Mclean's about Baby Boomers. It was headed up with a photo showing a regular weekly meeting of Spyder Lovers. Below is a part of that photo which has me puzzled. There is something which I have been unable to identify hanging on the left side...

Jay Leno tests the Morgan 3-wheeler

OK, you sit in it and not on it but it's still a reverse trike and it has a 2-litre S&S (Harley) engine but little else. Like no ABS, no power steering, no nanny to limp your ride home, etc, etc.. Just British eccentricity, circa 1910.

    Hesitant pickup through the gears

Hi. Can anyone suggest a reason why my RT SE5 hesitates as I change up through the gears? If the throttle linkage was cable driven I'd expect to see it had stretched and I'd take up the slack on the cable adjuster at the twist grip, that's exactly what this hesitation feels like, a stretched...

Stebel Nautilus Horn Mount VIBRATION PROBLEM and CURE

I've discovered that a vibration problem exists in my DIY suggestion for mounting the Nautilus on the RT. This past weekend I removed the frunk on my RT for the first time and found a quantity of grey plastic dust around the slot in the horn which serves to steady the Nautilus at the opposite...

    Frunk with Low Beam adjusters

I removed my RT's frunk today for the first time. There are plenty of photos on the forum of the frunk removed but I don't remember seeing one before showing the low beam adjusters. European spec Spyders use the lights in the frunk as the low beam and the upper pair of lights as the high...

No jacking under the rear shock. Why not?

I have a 2010 Midwest Workshop Manual for my RT. It contains a strong repeated warning, not to jack up the RT using the rear shock absorber mount. It looks to be a strong and convenient place to me, but I'm no mechanic. Anybody know why we shouldn't do this? "WARNING Do not lift under rear...

BRP's latest word on drive belt tension?

Can someone please tell me what BRP's latest advice is concerning drive belt tension? Thanks. My only reference is the 2010 RT MidWest Workshop Manual which tells me 750N plus or minus 250N, which sounds heavy to my (untrained) ears. I'm thinking that's a lot of tension just to keep the belt's...

New mehtod of Updating Firmware on DriftHD 1080P video cam.

The DriftHD 1080P camera updating firmware instructions have CHANGED. ABS Fault Codes and Limp Home.

During the installation of Jim's SmoothSpyder belt tensioner I had the rear end of my RT jacked up and I ran the engine in gear to look at the tracking of the belt and tensioner pulley. I did this several times, maybe 6 or7. Now the trike is ready to go the ABS warning is flashing at me and I've...

Before and After Video of Belt Tensioner

Catch a look at this video on YouTube: It's a pity that the engine noise has been replaced by "music" but the video does a good job of showing the before and after effect of fitting a SmoothSpyder belt tensioner.

    Spare Bulb Set ?

Some of the laws which must be complied with when motoring in France are: 1. You must carry a pair of flourescent jackets with reflective patches for the driver and passenger to wear in case of a break down at the side of the road. 2. A warning triangle must be carried and set-up to alert...
