• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    iPhone 5s

I just upgraded to a iphone 5s from a 4s, actually my daughter gave it to me as she was getting a new iphone 6. Now my problem. My 4s would connect nicely to the ipod integration cable in the trunk of my 2011 RTs. Is there a connector/cable available that will allow me to do this with the 5s...

    spyder to car communications

My wife will be driving our car and I will drive the spyder from Mn to Ca this fall. We have Scala rider helmet to helmet communications when we are both on the spyder but I was wondering if there is another option for when she is driving the car. Her wearing the helmet while driving was a...

    Oil leak sensor body

The past few months I have noticed oil drops on the floor under the spyder. Took a 2 day 600 mile ride and parked it. After it sitting for 3 weeks while I toured Europe on a rental spyder I came back to a large puddle. Only took about 100 ml oil to bring oil up to middle of dip stick. The...

    Loctite on threads

Having removed the tupperware a few times I began to wonder about reapplying loctite to the screw threads. The pale yellow material still shows up on some of the screws but others are understandably clean. What is the opinion of the group? Reapply loctite or don't bother. I have never had a...

    Antifreeze leak?

spyder was parked for over a week because of weather conditions, rain, rain, rain/snow, you get the picture. Yesterday was nice so after starting it up outside the garage I notice a puddle of liquid on the garage floor. Yup antifreeze. It took about 1 pint to fill the overflow tank. Went for...

    Interesting emails with local dealer

I have been in contact with the closest dealer to me about a 2014 ST SE5. The weather has not been to nice so they told me that they would not be giving demo rides until the weather clears. I just contacted them again and said how about a demo ryde on Saturday? They told me no, they are...

coatin on 2008g on rear drive pulley

My daughters boyfriends rear toothed pulley has some chips on the coating on the teeth. Does anyone know what type of coating BRP used on this item? It does not appear to be plated but looks more like an epoxy power coating. Any ideas? Thanks

    Kidney donation

Last Thursday my daughter donated a kidney at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. She started what was called a donor chain where a non-family member donates a kidney and the recipient finds a donor to also donate and so forth. This was a 3 person chain with 3 donors and 3 recipients...

    RT-622 trailer wiring

I am planning to purchase a 2010 RT-622 trailer from a friend who does not use it anymore. I have a 2011 RT-s. I know that the wiring harness will not work but is there a simple(inexpensive) way to convert it or do I need to purchase a completely different set-up for my 2011. Read as many...

    Plugging a tire

Finished a nice 300+ mile ride with some of the Minnesota spyders on Saturday. I had to head home so did not attend the dinner. Ran into some rough weather that last 40 miles. The spyder handled the wind and rain OK but something was just not right. This morning when I went out to clean up...

    Dumb move by me

Ryding on nice mountain roads (Frazier Canyon) Sunday. Two spyders and lots of sunshine. At the top we stopped and took some photos then headed down as it looked like the weather would change. About 17 miles from Ojai I noticed a orange light blink in the screen of my RT-s. It was the...

    Radio problems

Went for a ride today. Was listening to iPod and then switched to radio, but there was no radio on display. Mode switch just toggles between AUX and iPod. No radio or weather channel. Any suggestions where to start troubleshooting?

    Fault code P2279

Experienced my first Limp Home Mode yesterday on the 2011 RT-s. It had been running rough before I left for work in China before Christmas. When I returned last Saturday I was ready for a ride but lots of catching up work around the house was necessary. Friday was nice so that was the day to...

    magneto charging voltage

I keep hearing people saying that the spyder magneto does not charge at low RPM's and you must run above 5000 RPM to charge the battery. I questioned this so I did some tests on my 2011 RT-S with 6000 miles on the clock. The results are as follows. Conditions...

    Update charges

I found some posts that addressed this in the past. Now I wonder if there has been a change. Spoke to a friend this afternoon. He returned from a 6 day ride. Early on he was having some starting and idling problems on a 2010 RT. Stopped by a dealer ( not where he purchased or has his...

    Rusty's first ride

I was outside trying to take some nice color pictures for Lamonsters latest contest. I moved the RT to various places on the lawn hoping to get some good shots of the maple trees in full color. My dog always tags along whenever I am outside around the house. After many shots posing the RT at...

Thought the RT had been vandalized

I had left the :ani29: outside while we did some errands in town. Coming down the driveway it looked like someone sprayed yellow paint on the Spyder. :yikes: Turns out just to be low sun angle reflections.:opps: Lots of relief when I got close and color disappeared.

    Right foot getting warm

Temps here in the 90's now and on longer ride feel the heat on right foot even with boots. Don't want to block off the outlet as it does feel good in cooler weather. Would just removing the lower (bottom) panel make any improvement? I could then put it back on in the cooler months.
