• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil change, Engine light, Fault codes...

Yesterday I changed the oil in my RT and while doing the two step fill procedure I noticed the "check engine light stayed lit. After the final quart was added, and the RT restarted, I got the orange flashing engine and limp-mode lights, but NO oil warning light. When I checked the codes I got...

    Spare key under the doormat...

Today I had a couple of spare blank keys cut so that the frunk and trunk could be opened in the event of a "lockout". I removed one of the rear passenger footrest rubber pads and cut out an area large enough to nest the key. Once the pad is replaced, it's an easy task to lift the inside edge...

    Oil change spills...

To prevent oil from running onto the pan beneath the oil tank when draining the oil, insert a 2" long section of 1" diameter clear plastic hose (available from Lowes) through the hole in the pan, and over the boss on the bottom of the tank. This will allow passage of the hex extension through...

    Tech Sox, Inc.

Has anyone had a positive experience with "techsox.com"? I've been waiting for over a month for a couple of pairs of motorcycle socks. Their three phones dump me to voice-mail everytime I call, and when I finally do get through, I get promisses out the wazzoo, but no results. :dontknow:

    LOC-80 and BluBridge...

After talking to Phil yesterday, I decided to find out if the BluBridge transmitter would operate while being charged. Unfortunately, it won't. If the USB charging cable is plugged in while the unit is paired and operating, the unit shuts off, and will need to be repaired when you turn it on...

    Phil's bluetooth mod...

I've been considering the bluetooth mods that "Phil" did on his RT. Today I opened the rear speaker area on my RT a/c and discovered that the speaker outputs are inoperative. Looking at the wiring diagram, the 4 speaker wires come directly from the radio, but evidently you need the passenger...

    belt tension ramblings...

I checked my belt tension yesterday with a Crikit II and came up with a reading of 100#. This seemed low to me based on the spec in the e-manual (750 ± 250 newtons). These numbers translate to 169 ± 56 pounds, up in the area where a lot of you say you are running. Today I looked at the service...

    DPS went south...

Well, after 5700 miles with no steering issues, my steering finally started acting up. I was out for a ride yesterday doing around 65 when all of a sudden I felt a twitch. At first, I thought it might have been a crosswind, but the wind was too light for that. I then realized that the dreaded...

I know many of you have had issues with the airbag on the RT. Some have been lucky and the new fitting has resolved the problem. Some have needed a new airbag. I had my fitting and airbag replaced last Tuesday on the way to SITS. I left northeast Tn. thinking that the problem with my airbag...

I'm trying to figure out the best way to jack the RT without distorting the center frame rail, and keep it safely balanced while in the air. Has anyone determined where the center of gravity is located? I notice that there are two unused holes on the underside of the central frame rail, and...
