• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Holiday Season Karma

Haven't posted here since I sold the Spyder near the end of 2012. I think the forum should be for the enjoyment of those who own or for prospective owners and I didn't want to be one of those guys whose posting depresses or worries others who are more than happy with their purchase. In any...

    ACS Rear Susp. Adj w/ remote - 2010 RT-S

Last weekend my wife and I had the most uncomfortable ride we've ever experienced on the Spyder. Very harsh with the back wheel practically going air borne on every bump. When we got home I found the pressure in the rear at 120#. It's only supposed to range between 20 and 90#. On today's...

    Best BBQ in Michigan?

Looking for good BBQ in Michigan. Hope that's not futile. So far the best we've found near home is actually at City BBQ down in Sylvania, OH! lol So, if you have a favorite place with really, really, really good BBQ, brisket, pulled pork, etc, please list it here with enough info so I can...

    New wheels

Two new wheels found a place in our garage yesterday... A week ago our local BMW dealer offered a free off road riding clinic taught by two instructors from Raw Hyde in CA. I really, really enjoyed it, and wanted to move up from a smaller dirt bike I had, so yesterday I picked up a demo bike...

    Spyders at BMW International Rally

We attended the BMW MOA International rally in Bloomsburg, PA this past week. After a few days of walking the rally grounds we realized our Blue RT-S was NOT the only Spyder there. We saw several others, including a black RT and a gray and black RS (?) ridden by a woman in pink, and an orange...

    My fastest 10,000 miles

Bought the Spyder on 7/3/10 and passed the 10,000 mile mark today, 7/8/11. I've never put on miles that fast before, but the comfort of the Spyder is the reason. I've had trips to Vermont and home, Spyderfest and home, and now we're on a 3+ week trip that will be over 4,000 miles by the time...

    Fun with the trailer

My wife, Geri, and I had planned a nice ride today and wanted to use the trailer to get used to it. We took off without any destination in mind. Today was a gorgeous day with the temps reaching into the 70's by the afternoon. After about 80 miles it was time to stop for eats. We got a couple...

    Michigan to Vermont

Well, a week ago yesterday we returned from a 9 day, 1910 mile trip from Michigan, through the Finger Lakes area of New York, and then on to the BMW RA Rally in Pownal, Vermont. We put 600 miles on the RT-S in our first week to get the first service out of the way. Then we took off, heading...

    Happy with my RT

We worked hard to get 600 miles on our Spyder our first week so we could get the first service out of the way. Temps in Michigan were running in the 90's with high humidity, but Geri hung in there and joined me on each ride. We have some pretty back roads even in SE Michigan. We went out...

Not looking for a blue RT-S anymore

It went like clockwork: the dealer called a little before 10:00 am to say the bike and trailer were set up and ready to roll. We had some friends pick us up and take us to the dealer so we could both enjoy our first ride home together. The paperwork was easy, with almost no errors or problems...

Help Find a New Blue RT-S

After a lot of soul searching my wife and I concluded it's time to get a Spyder ... well, it didn't really take long to reach a decision. We want a new, 2010 blue RT-S. Our local dealer tells me there are none available - anywhere. He has a black one on the floor that he would happily sell...

    First test Ride: Prospective Owner

My wife and I headed to C&C Sports in Brighton, MI for our first test ride of an RT today. The Spyder was waiting for us outside and after the paperwork was done I was very pleased that the salesman gave us some suggested roads and then sent us off. No restrictions on where to go, and I was...

    Dealer Recommendations

Hi, My wife and I started shopping for a Spyder this weekend. We live in Saline, Michigan so the nearest dealer for us seems to be C&C in Brighton. I was wondering whether the members of the Forum have any recommendations of particularly good dealers, or any that we might want to avoid?
