• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Heads up from Canada

Stayed in the Sandman Hotel across the river from Montreal last night. This morning a hotel employee tells me that he interrupted what he believed to be the theft of my new F3. He said six "muscle bound" young guys had surrounded the bike. Behind them was a pickup with a long trailer. His...

Hey, all -- Wife and I will be leaving NC next Thursday for Valcourt. Booked at Grand Times Hotel, Sherbrooke. We're thinking about doing it up right and taking the Trans Canada Highway all the way west thru the Canadian Rockies to Washington state. I have the route pretty well mapped out in...

    Advice on covers

Thinking about a couple half covers for 2015 RTs on extended ride next summer, including Quebec in June :D. Don't really see the advantage over full covers other than packing size and weight. What say you riding veterans? Any views on particular products. Punji Nantahala National Forest...

    RT half covers

I'm thinking about a couple half covers for our 2015 RTs for an extended trip next June (including Quebec ;)). But I'm uncertain of any advantages over a full cover, other than traveling size/weight. Your experienced opinions are gratefully welcome. Specific product recommendations more than...

    Couple of lighting questions

2012 RT Limited -- headlights stopped working. 30 amp fuse shows zero resistance on multimeter so it"s probably functional. Anyone know if there is something like a fusible link in the circuit that might be frosted. It is possible that the switch gave up the ghost, but that's a job for a more...

    Seat release problem

Hey all -- Pulled up to a fuel pump a few days ago and the ignition key would NOT release the season my 2012 RT Limited. Generally, when the key is pushed down and turned to the right there is some spring resistance. Now there is none. An extra long screwdriver worked the seat latch so I was...

Literal hot seat on 2012 RT Limited

Was riding the other day and felt intense heat on my butt. I use an Airhawk so there was some insulation. But the heat felt like someone had thrown a switch -- similar to heated grips. Temperature gauge was normal. Got home and raised the seat. The black rectangular tube that is a frame...

    Help with floorboards ,please

During Bike Cleaning Day last week I noticed that my Kuryakyn floorboards were getting fairly grimey. Figuring it was no big deal, I popped out two of the rubber strips. Actually, it was quite a big deal since I can't get them back in. I've tried lubing the rubber with 3 In One, WD40, lithium...

Improved DPS effort in 2013 RT???

A lady friend in her late 60s rides a 2012 RT Limited. For riding in Florida the Spyder is perfect because most of our roads are straight. Her problem sets in up in the Smokeys. She says that the steering effort required on the switchbacks and twisties causes extreme shoulder fatigue. She...

    Travel tips for BlueRidge Parkway

Now finalizing a July trip from beginning to end of BlueRidge Parkway -- Cherokee NC to Waynesboro VA and back. The list of gotta-dos and gotta-sees seems a little thin despite all the official guides, etc. Any of you veteran mountain ryders have any suggestions? Two neophyte RT-Ryders are in...

    $978 today

Fortunately, out of BRP's pocket. My 2010 RT A/C burned up the stator last week @ 10,500 miles. Apparently, that crispy-fried the battery. So, 8 days later I have a new stator and battery @ $556 (parts only). Also found a coolant leak and took care of that. Last week it was a new rear tire for...

    After-use report on custom cover

Hey, all.... Back in June I started a thread about the custom BRP cover for the RT. What the discussion boiled down to was would the cover damage the paint while underway. Opinions went both ways and there was no clear consensus. After using the cover extensively for 4 months in North Carolina...
