• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Year's Day Ride

Happy New Year Spyderlovers! Here in the mid Atlantic it was a decent enough day (47 degrees and cloudy) to get in my traditional New Year's Day ride. I participated with my club (Buffalo Soldiers MC) in a local, small town, New Year's Day parade. The kids and adults love seeing the motorcycles...

    First EV Roadtrip

The purpose of this thread is not to promote or discourage electric vehicle (EV) ownership. The purpose is to relay my recent real world experience; no more, no less. My wife and I just completed a 3500 mile, roundtrip drive from Delaware to San Antonio, TX, with a short stay in Dallas. Our...

Finally sorted my Brake Rod & Position!

I searched but couldn't find my exact situation, so I thought I'd post my experience in hopes that it may help someone else contemplating changing their brake rod. When I first purchased my F3 S, I experienced the uncomfortable high brake pedal like many others, so I decided a LaMonster position...

Anyone put a Can-Am Spyder into a Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van?

A recent thread about the width of the RT has me thinking about the possibility of fitting an F3 in the back of an MB Sprinter. According to the specs, the F3s is 58.9 inches wide and the rear door opening of the Sprinter is 61.2 inches. On paper this is very tight but it fits. Of course it...

    Closest Call Yet!!!

I've been riding 2 and 3-wheelers for more than 40 years. During that time I've experienced a few "close encounters", but nothing compares to what I experienced this past Saturday morning. It was 10am, overcast with an occasinal sprinkle or two and I was traveling on my :spyder2: on a very...

    Back in the Spyder Saddle

It's been quite a while since my last post, but some of you may recall that six years ago I posted about my daughter totalling my '12 Spyder RS that I had given her as a college graduation gift. Fortunately she was unhurt and eventually bought her own bike, a Ninja ZX 10R. (That's a story for...

    Spyder Down........and Out!

A year ago I bought a '12 RS SM5. After enjoying it for several months (when my daughter would let me) I gave it to her for a graduation-from-college present. She loved her "Spydie", and had no trouble making the transition from 2-wheels to 3. But unfortunately, one moment of inattentiveness...

    So Long Spyder........Sort Of

Last July, after waiting patiently on the sidelines for a long time, I finally pulled the trigger on a '12 RS SM5, with my daughter's encouragement. She had recently purchased her own bike, an '01 Suzuki Marauder 800. She was new to biking but took to it like a fish to water. Since I got the...

    New Owner........Finally!!!

I don't know if anyone is keeping track of the length of time between Spyderlovers join date and actual Spyder ownership, but if they are I might be in contention for one of the longest! But it's all over now because I finally took delivery of my 2012 RS SM5 today ! It was a trade-in at...

    New Purchase

    Another 3-Wheeler

I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but there's a new 3-wheeler coming out next year; the Invader by Talon Motors, www.talonmotorsusa.com. It was on display at the SEMA Show in Vegas. At first look I thought it was a T-rex. Although the resemblance is obvious, there are some definite...

    Gators on the Road

I just got home from a 2600 mile road trip from Delaware to Florida and back with a few side trips (in the car, not the bike unfortunately), and I was amazed at the number of tire carcasses I saw and hit along the way! One trucker had a blowout a few hundred yards in front of me that sent...

    Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction

I'm headed down to West Palm Beach next week for a few days for the Barrett-Jackson Auction. Won't be buying anything this time, but the roadtrip makes a good opportunity to spend some quality time with my 13 yr. old son. I would love to have my wheels there with me but its not feasible to ride...
