• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have you crashed on the road?

Several recent threads have caused me to ponder this question. I'm curious about whether current Spyder riders have ever crashed, fallen, wrecked, whatever term you may use, on the road and how this may or may not have affected their attitudes about safety. I've crashed so many times in the...

    In praise of face shields

I've been riding bikes for a long time and for most of that time I wore an open face helmet whether on dirt or on the street. On dirt I wore goggles but on the street I usually just wore sunglasses or prescription lenses because, after all, I was behind a windshield. What was going to hit me...

    High Air Temperature codes

For several months my 2010 RT has occasionally given me a Check Engine Light and gone into Limp Mode on startup. This usually occurred when the RT was hot. The problem would clear up with just a few hundred yards of riding and everything would be fine. I think several others on Spyderlovers have...

    One more cancellation

As much as I hate to cancel, we are not going to make it to Spyderfest this year. Our problem is not so much the rain and flooding in Missouri as the lack of rain here in Texas. The fire danger in west Texas has been really bad and it looks like there is almost no chance of rain in our area...

    Progressive International Motorcycle Show

We attended the International Motorcycle Show in Dallas yesterday. BRP had a very nice presence there with a number of 2011 RT's and RS's. The white 2011 RT is beautiful but I have always favored red on anything with wheels and the red 2011 RT is absolutely stunning. Scotty, I'm jealous. The...

    Pics of Silver RT

Finally got a digital camera and took some pictures (not very good ones) of the new RT. It's dirty because I rode it to the dealer in the rain this morning for the 600 mile service and then rode it back home on wet roads this afternoon. The silver doesn't show the dirt too badly which is good...

    New Silver RT is home

Rode the new Silver RT home from the dealer yesterday. After what seemed an endless wait, it came in on Wednesday afternoon and they put it together and serviced it Friday afternoon. The only problem was a code on the computer that turned out to be a sensor left unplugged at the factory but...

Rode an RT today and ordered one

My wife and I finally got to ride the Spyder RT-S today. My dealer has had a demo for about two weeks but weather and other circumstances have kept us from taking a test ride. We both loved it. Here is a short report on the ride. Since I don't have a GS Spyder, I can only compare the RT to my...
