• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Chicago NW Indiana Area - any good independent Can Am mechanics?

I usually do my own work. If I run into a problem I thought it would be a good idea to have someone in mind.

I added a Pedal Box to my 2012

I purchased a Pedal Box from Martin the Vlogger for my 2012 RT. When I have my wife riding as a passenger the 998 always seemed a little sluggish from a stop. The Pedal Box certainly corrected that problem. I have it in city mode most of the time. Sport mode is just unbelievably responsive. I...

Need access to lower radiator hose - 2012 RT?

So I’m going change the radiator fluid and want to remove the lower hose. Sound simple and is simple except it’s buried in there. I really don’t feel like removing the frunk if I don’t have to. Can I go in through the right side and use the thermostat hose? Any help is appreciated.

    2012 RTS Overheating Issue

Hi, Just looking for a few opinions on this. I was riding today, one of the first times this year. I was stopped in traffic and my temp gauge suddenly shot up to an overheating reading. The computer went into limp mode. Pulled out in traffic and the warning went away. The bike cooled down and...

I’m replacing the rear brake pads on my 2012 RT. Look like they need to compressed and not screwed in like the more modern units. Appreciate and comments on this job.

A lot of the bolts are using a yellow locktite. Can I substitute red? The tire shop in my area is saying they can’t balance the rear tire. The motorcycle shop says it’s not necessary. Just interested in your opinions.

998cc 2012 RT Clattering noise when under load

I have a 2012 RT-S SM5 22000 miles 998. I purchased this bike in March and have put on about 3000 miles. I’ve had a lot of motorcycles but have to say I really love this Can-am. I hear a noise that sounds to me like a valve clatter. I don’t hear it during a slow acceleration. But if I open the...

    Riding with a passenger.

I’m loving this Can-am Spyder RT but it’s completely different when my wife is riding with me. Cornering with a passenger seems strange. How do you guys adjust your suspension to compensate for the added weight?

    2012 RT I smell gas

I’ve put about 500 miles on this Rt. I smell gas when I first fill up to when it registers about a half tank. When the gas gauge triggers the low fuel warning lamp it take about 3 1/2 gallons to fill up. So the gas smell is when the tank is really full. Any thoughts?

Recommend tires for my new 2012 RT
