• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How much clutch slippage, if any, is normal

2011 RT SE-5 55,000 Miles I was out riding yesterday and being a bit aggressive. I noticed that if I'm cruising along, in any gear, at a comfy pace (maybe 4500 to 5000 RPMs) if I hit the gas full throttle the RPMs instantly jump to about 7000 before the bike actually speeds up. This only...

    Check Engine Warning

2011 RT-S. I was on day 2 of a 2 day trip today. Went about 300 miles yesterday and 150 today when the orange 'Check Engine" light came on my display and was flashing off and on. I checked it roadside as best I could. No overheating, oil is good, coolant is good, no smells, no limp mode, all...

    Need help with Toyota part

Hi, I'm trying to find these parts but I am failing ! It is for a 2012 Toyota Tundra, Rock Warrior, double cab, 5.7 liter, 4 wheel dr. They are the flexible flaps that shield splashing from the engine or inside wheel wells. They are black, flat, flexible, rubbery type pieces that either screw...

    Another Luggage Rack

First off, I'm not selling anything, and I have no intention to. This was just a little something I tried so I thought I'd share. I took a trip to the Canadian Rockies last month with my wife, riding 2 up. That's about 3000 miles round trip for me. I have a BRP trailer hitch, but mine has a...

Can anyone advise on a part #

This is a front fender light lens for a 2011 RT-S SE5. I pulled up a parts diagram, but it shows a part # for absolutely everything to do with the fender BUT this lens. If it is listed somewhere else I don't know where. If someone could help me find a part # so I can order it, I'd appreciate...

    Looking for ipod advice

I have a 2011 RT-S and I have been using the ipod connection in the trunk for years. I have the itouch model. In the past few months I have developed a problem where the ipod disconnects itself (electronically, not physically) from the stereo system. The music stops and my dash screen shows that...

    New front tires - Potenza

Just put new front tires on my 2011 RT-S. After much research I decided to go with Bridgestone Potenza. I kept the size the same as the OEM. Wow, such an improvement. I have always had "alignment" issues, even after being lasered twice. This finally appears be corrected. I will fool around with...

    Cruise Control Replacement

I was having trouble with my cruise control on my 2011 RT-S, and it was getting worse and worse. It would not engage into cruise mode, or would only hold it there a few seconds and click off. After some discussion on another thread, it was pretty clear the problem was in the multi switch cluster...

    Cruise control problem

This is strange but here it is. Over the past few months I noticed my cruise control (or maybe just the switch itself) was getting finicky. If I tried to step up the speed or drop it down it would usually shut off the cruise. It got a little worse with time. Now I have to ride for about 20 miles...

    Rear Trunk help

Rear Trunk help UPDATE My left rear side trunk will not stay shut. It seems like the latches are possibly stuck in the open position ? I noticed the last time I opened it I had to pull the latch a lot harder than usual. I sprayed WD40 on the latches to no avail. Before I start pulling panels...

    Finished Canadian Rockies

Well I just finished my longest trip. From Las Vegas to the Canadian Rockies and back, 3168 miles. The sights were the best I've ever seen. I stayed in Banff while I was there. It is a tourist town but it was still a great place. I would recommend this ride to anyone who is up for the adventure...

Coolant Change ? Read this first

As it turns out, this is a pretty well documented problem. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of it until it was too late. When you unscrew the drain plug on your radiator, it is highly likely that the radiator nut-ring, which the drain plug screws into, will break free from the radiator itself...

OIL, not the same questions, I swear !

I have a 1995 Four Winns boat with a Ford 5.0 V-8. It stays in the garage when I'm not on the water and its in very good condition. The manual for oil changes says "Use only SAE 30, single viscosity oil. Do not use multi-viscosity oil such as 10W-30, or 10W-40". OK, I get it. However, this...

    Spyder vs Road Hazard

I was riding on the freeway today, the traffic was tight but we were all going about 65 MPH. A large chunk of twisted metal, say breadbox size, came flying out from underneath the car in front of me. I had absolutely no chance of avoiding it and rode directly over it with the middle of the...

    AAA, Your Thoughts

I've never had AAA before, but they sent me an offer in the mail and it seems almost too good to be true. $57 for one year of service in any vehicle I'm riding in. Even if I'm a pasenger, rental, Spyder, whatever. This covers tows for any reason, locked out of car service, jump start, and other...

    Heated grips.

When I use my heated grips on my RT, the right hand gets drastically hotter than the left. I realize that probably sounds sounds petty, but the problem is serious. If I turn them on, even on low, within minutes the throttle hand its too hot to hold, even with a glove. I have to turn them off...

    Spyder Dealership Recommends Harley

I'm in the midst of a road trip from Las Vegas to Northen Montana. Montana is an outstanding place to ride, but more on that later. This trip is about 2500 miles, and I noticed my rear tire is pretty worn out, and fading faster than I had counted on. I went a bit out of my way to Kalispell, MT...
