• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Ryders down but not out.

A couple who are members of the Wyoming CMA ran into a deer on their Spyder last Sunday. The lady broke her leg badly, and it may need surgery, but thankfully that was the worst of it. Trike is banged up bad, but most of those in the know figure it would have been a lot worse for them had they...

    Crack time tomorrow!

Maybe should have phrased the title differently...:dontknow: But anyway, gonna' head over the Bighorn Mountains in the AM to take a boat ride through the third largest canyon in the US. This should give the wife the perfect opportunity to see just how well her '11 RT with new 15" wheels/...

Got alignment and want to give props

So trailered the wife's '11 RT to Spearfish, South Dakota (400 mile round trip) to have a laser alignment done after replacing the grungy Kendas and 14" rims with some Vredesteins on 15" wheels. Went to Outdoor Motor Sports and Troy hooked us up. Quick, professional, and knowledgable. He pointed...

    YAYYYYY...new rubber & different rims

Finally got the 15 inch wheels and Vredesteins married and mounted on the wife's '11 RT, and got an appointment to get a laser alignment in Spearfish, SD on Saturday (it will be trailered). I'm praying that this takes care of the bizarre wear on the inside of the right-side tire. When I scrape...

Just how bad can tires be?

So I thought my wife's '11 RT had eaten the inside edge of the right front Kenda a bunch in just the last few short trips she's taken, and I am planning on trailering the bike to a laser alignment place in Spearfish, South Dakota as soon as the 15 inch wheels and Vredesteins I ordered get here...

Does this tire make my butt look fat?

When the wife got her Spyder a couple months ago, it wasn't the first bike in the garage with a wide, square-shouldered tire on the back. I have been running my V Star 1300 "darkside" for three years now. Having to break up the riding season each year to put on a 200+ dollar tire got old quick...

    Why I love riding here

We all have favorite local roads, and I am an unapologetic cheerleader for the areas near where I live in Sheridan, Wyoming. I look out my window and the Bighorn Mountains are right there. I am on the east side of the range, in between Highways 14 and 16, which are the two paved roads that go...

$#!+ fuzzy! Quigley match is canceled!

Not sure if anyone else on here is a fan of long range "buffalo gun" shooting (or just a fan of the movie, "Quigley Down Under"), but the 2020 Matthew Quigley Buffalo Rifle Match in Forsythe, Montana has been called off. I was really looking forward to this year being my first ever as a...

Brakes aren't too bad, but looking for feedback on EBC

Well, I had to throw out the anchor on the '11 RT-S for a lovely family of whitetails that decided it would be a good idea to cross right in front of me (nothing new or surprising: we had at least 85 deer strikes in a 3/4 mile stretch of highway in front of my drive last year). I was initially...

Fuel economy not as bad as I was led to believe

So the wife now has a couple hundred miles on the '11 RT-S SE5 we got her, and it is averaging 28.5 MPG in mostly 55-75 MPH riding, with a few miles of in-town thrown in for good measure. She has been great about not short-shifting, and keeping it at 5100+ RPMs. So we figure she has about a 160...

First ride on the '11 RT-S SE5/ report

So rode the wife's scoot back home after picking it up today. Fifty miles of lovely twisty back roads. Between 5100 and 5150 RPM at 70 MPH, and pulled just fine on a nasty steep section simply by keeping it in the powerband and not lugging it. Not rocket science, but I am amazed at how many...

Squeezed the trigger, and have a question

Well, the wife was looking at a Ryker, but we found an exceptional deal on a 2011 RT-S SE5, so we're getting that for her tomorrow. After looking into it, I suspect it is actually a much better choice for her than the Ryker anyway due to where we live (northern Wyoming). Highway speed limits are...

    Greetings, earthlings.

Brand new to the forum and not yet a Ryker owner, but looking to get the wife on one this spring. I figured it was a good idea to join a group like this and start lurking and learning prior to our purchase. I'm a mechanic and unrepentant motorhead, Florida born and bred, but now living right at...
