• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Thank You!

Well, I picked up my new ride yesterday, a 2013 V Star 1300 Deluxe. After 5 years on 2 Spyders and many headaches, I traded in my 2010 RTS and must say goodbye to the Spyder community (as an owner anyways). Just wanted to say thank you to so many members who shared with me their expertise and...

    2010 RTS Trade In Value

Just curious, but am thinking seriously about trading in my 2010 RTS SM5, just wondering, with the new 2014's rolling out if others with a 2010 RTS are thinking the same and what they have listed their RT's for or what they have been offered as a trade in. Appreciate the feed back. Mine is as...

    The Last Straw

I really debated posting this thread, as many people use this site to complain about things. However, I guess I wanted to have some forum to express my disappointment with BRP. I've been having issues with my 2010 RTS the last 2 summers. Most recently, a re-occuring issue with the brakes, ie...

    BRP Contact

I know at one time, Carlos was the contact person for owners who were having issues with their Spyder. I believe he has moved on to another position with BRP. Does anyone know who took his place or who the contact person is now at BRP. Thanks

    2014 RT

Just a couple of dumb questions, as I've not been able to determine this from the limited info out on the 2014 RT. First, do all of the RT models include the adjustable handlebars? Second, am I correct when I say that the RT Limited model is only available in an automatic trans? Also, why do...

    Brake Failure

Ok, so this has happened now 3 times since last fall. I go to stop, push down on the brake pedal, and suddenly the brake is very "spongy" almost like there is no resistance. I take my foot off of the brake, and it's like the system resets, as there is normal resistance and braking after the...

    Manual Computer Reset

I seem to recall someone saying there was a way to manually reset the computer to clear an error message on the display, but I don't remember the steps or sequence. Does someone know/remember or am I off here (more than normal)? While riding this weekend I pulled into a gas station to top off...

    Spyderfest 2013 Turnout

I've been asked a number of times since returning home, how many Spyder owners showed up for the rally. So, does anyone know what the total was? :dontknow:

    I Pod not Charging

While in Maggie Valley last week, my I-Pod suddenly stopped working. It didn't take long to determine that for some reason it was not charging when plugged into the auxiliary jack/cord in the trunk. After purchasing a spare charging cord at Wally World, and plugging it into the 12v jack and...

    Maggie Valley 2013

This was my second time to Maggie Valley. Firstly, except for Thursday's rain, the weather this trip was beautiful. For all you folks who live in the Smokey Mountains, all I can say is you live in a beautiful part of the country. I did not spend much time at the fair grounds as I felt after...

Blown Rear Shock @ 13k Miles

Took the RT in to have the brake pedal/linkage update done, only to discover that the rear shock was blown and had to be replaced. Of course it's a year our of warranty so BRP wouldn't cover the repairs. Just curious, has anyone else had the rear (air) shock go at only 13k miles? That seems...

Spyder Owners at Chicago Cycle Show

So as not to have to fight the crowds, I went to the cycle show at Rosemont on Friday afternoon (courtesy of BRP). The complimentary tickets stated that there would be a special "event" on Saturday for all registered owners, so I'm curious to know, if any owners were at the show on Saturday and...

    Chicago Motorcycle Show

I recieved two complimentary tickets to the Chicago motorcycle show yesterday in the mail, courtesy of BRP. The documents state that there is a special Spyder owner event scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 9th @ 2:00 PM. Will there perhaps be an appearance by some or all of the Spyder 5...

    Brake Failure

A couple months back I had posted here that I was getting an intermittent brake failure light, someone said that I should check the master cylinder fluid level as the Spyder is sensitive to any low levels. I did top off the master cylinder and the problem seemed to go away. I took Spydie out...

    Brake Pad Life

Just flipped 13k on the RT, have already had to top off the brake fluid level in the master cylinder. Just wondering how many miles folks are averaging before replacing the pads?:dontknow:

    "Brake Failure"

I was riding to work this morning on my usual route, when I came to a downhill section of road where the speed limit drops from 45 to 35. I typically just down shift in this section and let the Spyder engine brack to slow down, which is what I did this morning. I happened to look down to check...

    @$@%#%^@ Limp Mode!

I love the Spyder, that said, I hate the Limp Mode feature. I'm about half way home from work last night when I see the engine light come on and then the display starts flasing "Engine Oil" and goes into limp mode. I got her home and checked the oil level which was fine. I road over to the...

    Help Finding Thread

Some time back someone had posted some pictures of a red RT with a spider web decal/pinstrip (light grey or silver) on the frunk, trunk, and running down the sides. Wish to do something similiar on my RT but would be nice to have a picture. If anyone remembers this RT would appreciate your...

    Rear Tire Cost

Having the rear wheel & sprocket chromed, dealer noticed that the rear tire is almost worn down to the wear pads & suggested I might want to think about repalcing it as the rear end is all apart anyways it would save me some labor costs as opposed to getting another 2-3k out of the existing rear...
