• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

rear lights fulll of water and right side dead

A few weeks ago on a ride a fellow rider informed me my brake light and turn was not working. A closer work there are full of water, actually all have water in them. I am past my warranty and trying to see if brp will cover it in good faith. I call led the nhtsa to report a safety issue. They...

Is the oem drive belt carbon fiber

I just bought a new drive belt just to have it on hand. Made me wonder if the oem belt is carbon fiber. If so I would think it should last well past the 12,000 recommended. I have over 15,000miles, will wait to change mine.

New horn might be a problem

I put Wolo low tone horn on my Ryker, sounds like a loud horn from the old days. A 5 minute job, problem is that is requires a 10 amp fuse and the Ryker only has a 7.5 amp fuse. Putting a larger rated fuse could cause problems. I am hoping that the horn will not need as many amps as stated but...

New plugs gapped at .029 have improved gas mileage

Since I got my Ryker last February the mileage has been all over the place. When I put in new plugs (oem) and gapped them at .029 I noticed a little more power as I left my driveway. I have done my own tunes for around 50 years, I never expect any improvement just to keep the norm. So i was...

NGK CR8EB plug gap not always right!

I recently ordered the plugs for my Ryker, the vendor lists the plug gap as 0.032 - Can Am says the gap should be 0.028 to 0.031. I will gap my plugs at 0.030. I have read several times online that plugs come with the correct gap, I have not found this to be true. On my cars, I have seen 3 out...

    Drive or cvt belt

I have been trying to find the ryker 900 cvt belt with no luck. At the rate I am going I will at least need to check it in a few months. I will also need a manual. Can Am part prices are excessive in my opinion. I would like to comparison shop before I buy if possible.

    Air filters, cvt belt prices

By the end of the summer I will probably have enough miles on my Acer 900 to replace the filters and belt. I have been pricing the filters and not the belt yet. The filters I have seen are priced very high in my opinion. Anyone find any good deals on them? I have not got a belt size yet to look...

    Inspection vs service

In hitting 3,000 miles today I re-read the manual for 1st oil change, It says at 3,000 the Ryker should be inspected. This is not the same as a service to me. To me it mean check all fluid levels, filters, tire wear etc to check for problems. I don't believe it is necessary for warranty. It also...

    First group ride Great fun

Today I went on a 5 hour run on the coast with a group called Abate, I think they're nation-wide. I was a little concerned about then looking down on my Ryker but no such issues. Most a bunch of older guys like my-self. A poker ride they called it. There was a support truck which was not needed...

Radio and 12 volt power supply

Hi I bought a radio and speaker set that should be here shortly. I can't seem to recall but cant find the thread on 12v. I thought it said there was a 12v connection under the left panel. I don't want to do anything that could void my warranty, I might even wait till it has expired to install...

    WOW 48 mpg!!

It has finally warmed up to the fifties here. I have past 1,700 miles and I could see my mileage improving. After a couple of long rides I filled it up and my local gas station and 102 miles divided by 2.077 gallons gives me 48 mpg. It has been slowly improving over the last few weeks. I don't...
