• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Rotax for 2011 Spyder

    Here's a sneak photo of the new engine for the touring Spyders . . . . .

    Goodbye and thank you . . . .

I've traded in my Spyder and moved back to two wheels (although I never really left with my ever-present Ducatis). This time a new FatBoy has been added to the collection. I just want to thank all the wonderful people on this board who have been both helpful and encouraging during the times that...

    After the recall . . . revisited

Yeah, I'm the one that bragged in a previous post that after my recall was done, I noticed NO difference in the Spyder's performance. I believe I said I had the "perfect Spyder". Well, after a 120 mile ride today, or more correctly, towards the end of that ride, the Spyder began to run rough...

    Lamonster "catch can" revisited . . . . .

I noticed oil seeping from around the joint between the upper and lower airbox halves, and this was right at the 2K mile mark on my SM-5. It was time to add the Lamonster airbox modification, which because of the photos, was an easy fix. Even though there was probably not more than three or so...

    New BRP seat with pics . . . .

Had the new seat installed today, and many thanks to Ride Now Ocala and the great techs and parts guys. Kind of nice to have a dealer close by that seems to really care. Haven't put a lot of miles on the seat yet, only about 30 or so. But it's definitely a night-and-day thing from the stock seat...

    Interesting Ebay item . . . .

Thanks to you guys, I was able to make my own. But here's something for those who choose not to. Hope this link works...

Fender tip light kit . . . any hints on installation?

I just ordered the NMN tips kit and the mud flap lights. The video about the mud flap lights posted here is great. Wondering how difficult it is to install the fender tip lights, especially the part where the single wire attaches to the turn signal wire. Any hints, and is a tester necessary?

    Engine Ice coolant?

I performed a search here, and perhaps I missed, but I was wondering if anyone has tried "Engine Ice" coolant? Some of the Ducati riders I know swear that it drops the coolant temperature between 30 and 40 degrees. That's kind of hard to believe, but they insist that their bikes run much cooler...

    TBR header pipe?

I have the Two Brothers carbon duals installed in my SM and absolutely love the difference in performance over a stock can, and like this setup even more than the Hindle I had on my SE. I was at the dealer today for the 600 mile check and noticed another Spyder with the same TBR exhaust system...

    So long, SE-5!

Finally did it and traded my 2009 SE in for a 2009 SM. Another red one! Just waiting until the dealer can get the Two Brothers exhaust installed before I pick it up. Sorry, SE-5 folks, but I have had enough of the shifting problems and just could not take it any more. I certainly hope that the...

    VIN numbers

Does anyone know how to tell, by using the VIN number, when a Spyder was built? Is there a VIN code that differentiates between SM and SE models?

    Evoluzione air intake system

I have searched for threads concerning the Evoluzione airbox setup, and have been unsuccessful in finding any information. Just wondering if this could be used alone with the Hindle exhaust without any other modifications.

    Question for do-it-yourself oil changers . . .

I'm getting ready to do my 3K oil change on my 2009 SE, and Lamont's step-by-step guide made it very easy-- so far. The drain plugs seem as if someone welded them in place. Just wondering if any of you experienced tight plugs, and how you removed them. First, I know I need to go to Sears or...

    For those who have SE-5 doubts . . . .

As some of you remember from my previous posts, my 2009 SE-5 was plagued with shifting problems-- primarily sticking in one gear or another. The dealer downloaded a "patch" but this did not remedy the problem. After a 6-week stay at the dealer and my call to BRP, the dealer replaced a module and...

    New rims from BRP

I saw this Spyder at Daytona and the BRP rep said that the rims will be available in a few months. Notice the rear as well.

    Got my SE-5 back!

As some of you know from reading the threads, my 2009 SE-5 has spent six weeks at the dealer for the not uncommon shifting problems-- mine having the tendency to stick in one gear or another until a ride would become so frustrating that, well, I won't say what I was thinking. Anyway, I picked it...

    Any suggestions??

Sorry to say that I'm about burned out with my new 2009 SE-5. I'm in Florida, and the riding weather has been great since I bought it towards the end of November. It started to have shift issues, as many on this board have discussed, right after the 600 mile checkup. I have returned it to the...
