• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder enjoyment vs. experience of ownership

Hello Spyder Lovers, Something has been nagging me over the past year. I don't ride that much but each time I do, I enjoy my Spyder. However, getting service from BRP dealers is frustrating. I live in a small town with a number of dealers within one to four hours. The closest is mostly into...

Do I need to do any more about last year's pulley recall on my F3?

Last year I received a letter from BRP in regards to the pulley recall for the F3. I have a 2018 F3L. At the moment I contacted my dealer and he told me no parts were available yet but there was a procedure to check if everything was functional and safe to ride. I took it for a check and...

An electric Spyder with a roof

Interesting, wouldn't be surprised if BRP was working on something similar. https://www.arcimoto.com/

Estimate of time to install various parts

Anyone has an idea as to how long it would take an average DIY'er to install the following BRP OEM parts for a 2018 F3 Limited: Idler pulley Aux lights Passenger armrests Trailer hitch If instead of doing it myself, how long would it take (charge) an authorized dealer to do it, my guess...

Anybody Towing a Lees-ure Lite Camper with an F3 Limted?

Anybody towing one of these http://www.leesurelite.com/ with their F3 T or Limited? If so, are you using the BRP OEM hitch kit? If so, are the wiring components supplied with the kit compatible with the 3-pin harness of the trailer? Any other comments on the trailer in general and its...

    My neck cracking while riding

Yesterday, I went for a two-hour ride and I experienced cracking in the neck. I've had that a few times in the past, only while riding a motorcycle. I suppose it can be due to the weight of the helmet pushing down on the vertebrae. It could be that I am too focused and not moving my head...

    Back rest in an accident

I am wondering whether a back rest may be a safety hazard in an accident when the impact causes the body to snap backwards. I wear a vest with a back protector so maybe that would reduce the impact. Is there any real world facts on this issue. Any opinion? Thanks

    I wish I was riding...

Here in Southeastern Ontario, usually by XMAS we should have a least a bit of snow. The snow is a reminder of why I am not riding my Spyder. But this year, we have absolutely nothing. The roads are clear and yesterday we had 45F or 8 C. I could have been riding. But my Spyder is stored for...

    BRP going electric?

Dunno if this has been posted somewhere else but the following may be interesting for green inclined riders: https://www.rideapart.com/articles/370078/brp-electric-two-three-wheeler-concepts/ Cheers,

Urgent help - first oil change

I feel like a fool. I've done everything except pour the oil. Now I ask myself a question. Where do I pour the oil? I check a few videos. The only thing they say is ... at the end pour the oil. Doesn't say where. I assume it is thru the dipstick tube but since I haven't seen anything to...

Oil change 12 months, YES or NO

Hello all, I have a 2018 F3 LTD. I had an oil change at the end of the season last year at 5000 kms. I thought BRP recommended an oil change every year irrespective of the mileage. I currently have only 10000 kms on it at the moment. I contacted my dealer for an oil change and he said the...

F4 Customs – Happy but disappointed

I bought a F4 Customs windshield for my F3L last week. I received it and installed it. When I removed the cling wrap, I noticed it was scratched. Based on how I manipulated and installed it I can’t believe I did this myself. Obviously, I can’t prove it. So it’s a big conundrum. The...

    F4 Customs vs Madstad

In the infamous windshield debate of F4 Customs vs Madstad or other brands, I am currently leaning towards F4 Customs although I could prefer the adjustability of the Madstad. The reason I am leaning towards the F4 Customs is the availability of the Air Wings for the F4. Is there anything else...

Back pain - Ergonomic issue with my F3L

Hello, I need help to figure out what I need to change ergonomically in my F3L setup to eliminate my back pain. I am not a health professional so I'm not sure of the name of the body part but it's the muscle(s) between the shoulder blades, maybe called the rhomboids. It starts after about one...

What do you do with the antenna?

I have a 2018 F3L. I don't use the radio. The antenna is not used. It's actually in the way when I put a cover over the Spyder. It doesn't look like it can be removed without leaving a metal connection open to weather and it doesn't look like it could be twisted down and stowed. Has anyone...

    Coming out of hibernation

My Spyder has been in storage since November. I look at it once in a while and check the battery tender. I haven't done work on it thru the winter although I bought a set of "The Wedgie" from a member of this site. Haven't been active on this site until this week but now that I have started...

Towing your Spyder between two homes

Hello, I have two homes located 450 kms apart, 95% highway. I'm thinking of buying a trailer to take my Spyder back and forth. I figure it would give me more flexibility like driving at night and in bad weather. The 401 is very boring highway for riding repeatedly and I drive faster than I...

    Rattling side mirror

Hello all: I have a 2018 F3 Limited. And love it. The left side mirror rattles quite a bit at speeds > 65 mph. Specially so on acceleration when the bike vibrates more. I have my first service at 5000 kms coming this week. I was wondering whether this is something I should ask the dealer...

I want to say thank you!

I've had my Spyder for two months now. Just back from a short ride. I love it. I haven't found yet anything I don't like about it. Of course I could find a few things if I was working for BRP and was asked to give a list of improvements. For example, the BRP Connect is not...

F3 is disabled due to battery disconnected

Today it was raining so I decided to install a cable for the battery tender. As I am trying to reconnect the wires to the battery terminals, I dropped a screw. It looks like I will have to disassemble the bike to find it so I look for another screw. Luckily I found two from a previous bike...
