• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do you Push or Pull thru turns?

I have put about 9K miles on my 2017 RTS. Today I was riding solo on a deserted twisty road today and decided to experiment a little. In the past I noticed that I would "Pull" thru turns....pull harder on the left side handlebar and slightly push on the right side handlebar for a left twisty...

No more foot on brake during startup

Within the past few weeks, I have noticed that I no longer need to have my foot on the brake to startup my Spyder (2017 RTS with about 9K miles)....even on the first start of the day. The computer still cycles through the startup procedure fine, and I still have to press the ECO button (unless...

    Clamp-on Highway Pegs

I have a 2017 RTS. Today I went on a long beautiful 68 degree ride. My knee was bugging me a little, so I started putting my feet up onto the top of the lower black plastic wind deflector "thingy" just in front of the floorboards. It was a pretty comfy feet-forward riding position, they bow...

Oil/Filter and Air Filter Change out

I did my first "real" work on my 2017 RTS last night, changing the Oil/oil filter and replacing the stock air filter with a K/N model. The only work I had done previous to this was installing some foam grips, and putting a handlebar mount X-grip ball mount on (breaking 2 6mm bits in the process...

Interesting Article on Motorcycle Sales in US

Well, HD has put the state of US motorcycle sales in plain english: https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2018/01/30/harley-davidson-kansas-city-plant-motorcycle-sales-fall/1078008001/ I found it interesting, and sort of sad. Hank

    Bama Fall Color Ride

This last weekend was probably some of the best riding of the entire year in N. Alabama. 75-80 degrees, clear, and the leaves are really starting to turn. Did a couple of Fall Color rides to check out the scenery. Attached a couple of pics looking North from the top of Monte Sano Mountain in...

    Kill Switch vs. Fumble-Fingered Hank

Decided to play some hooky from my work and go on a nice morning ride while the weather is nice. I tried out my super-duper new winter gloves...a little bulky but very warm. Fumble-Fingered Hank accidentally hits the kill switch while reaching for the cruise control button....on the freeway...

    Another Farkle Question...Extended Brake Pedal

I know, I know...It's only a $30 item. But, I was kind of worried about getting the tip of my riding boot stuck under the extended brake pedal. Any feedback from those who have used it? Hank

    Motorcycle Touring Maps

I picked up a really good map of Motorcycle rides in the SE United States (picture attached). Have done a couple of the routes and they are really fun. They have maps for other areas of the U.S. at www.wildrides.info (no pdf's yet, you have to order them). I picked mine up at a local BBQ spot...

Show Chrome Driver Backrest for RT.....any thoughts?

I'm looking at buying this because I really need a driver backrest: https://www.amazon.com/Show-Chrome-Accessories-41-168A-Removable/dp/B071H48Q75/ref=dp_ob_title_auto Anyone else using this? Thoughts on installation and comfort? It's waaaaay cheaper than the BRP OEM backrest and looks to be...

First time Riding 2-up on my RTS

I had the opportunity to do some 2-up riding recently. This was the first time for me to take a passenger on the RTS (had ridden 2 up a lot on 2-wheelers in the past). It was my passenger's first time on any sort of bike/trike at all so I had to do some initial training/practice with her. I...

Huntsville, AL Cycle Gear Bike Night Oct 6th

5-8 PM; South Parkway Location. They usually have food, music, and raffle off some farkels. I'm pretty certain of 4-5 other Spyders going, possibly a Slingshot or two and some Tri-Glides. Come meet some fellow 3-wheelers if you are in the area. Weather looks to be fantastic.

Who has avoided things with the front wheels, but forgot the rear?

Deftly avoided a road kill or road hazard by maneuvering so it goes between your two front tires....only to remember at the last second that your rear tire is in the middle. :banghead::banghead:. The dead skunk smell is almost gone from yesterday. :sour:

    Low Fuel Warning Lamp Question

Maybe a kind of dumb question..... I have a 2017 RT-S with the analog gauges (i.e. the digital bar gauges for fuel and temp are overridden). Where does the low fuel warning lamp show up, and what does it look like? I have checked the Owners Manual several times and didn't see any description...
