• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is it Ok to use ethanol gas? Anyone have problems?

Have a 2013 ST-L with the 998cc. Have been using non-ethanol gas since I bought the bike in 2017. It was easy to find non-ethanol in FL, and NC but since moving to SE VA I find it hard to locate non-ethanol gas. Thinking about switching to ethanol blended gas. Anyone have problems using this stuff.

ST with Check engine light & codes P0107 and C1290 - fixes?

So was out for a short trip yesterday and heard what sounded like a backfire. The check engine light came on, but it got me home. No limp mode, but I did baby it and it felt different. Tried to start it this morning and it would fire but not run. Check engine light was still on. Read the codes...

What could be causing this Brake Failure Alarm?

My 2013 ST-L often has a brake failure alarm. It is obvious the parking brake is not on as it rolls easily in neutral. If I turn it off and restart the alarm clears. I have the cowling removed from the RHS and the switch is definitely activated. I can close the switch manually and the light goes...

    Front Wheel Shimmy

I have a 2013 ST-L. It has about 10,000 miles on it and the original Kenda front tires. It has a shimmy which seems to be getting worse. Above 40 mph, after gong over a small bump in the road the front wheels shimmy or vibrate, even making the handlebars shake. After awhile it seems to settle...

    Put in a Cat Delete

Yesterday I put in a Cat Delete on my 2013 STL. Mostly to reduce the heat in the confined engine compartment. Went pretty smoothly. Glad I read jwulf74's post on tips. At first I though I had bit off more than I can chew but, got it done. Also changed the oil and filters while I was in there...

    Parasitic battery drain?

I have a 2013 ST-L. The battery has drained down several times after only 3 days of non-use. I checked the "switch off" current and it is about 150 mA. This is after the bike has been off for at least an hour. Any suggestions on where this drain might be coming from or how to track it down?lo

    Thanks for the help

Just replaced the rear tire on my 2013 ST-L. It was the OEM with about 7K. I replaced it with a Yokohama S Drive. Don't think I would have had the confidence to do it if it wasn't for this website. Took the wheel off, left the brake disk and sprocket on and took it to a motorcycle shop and had...

Rear Wheel Removal, brake caliper removal

Ok, probably a stupid question. I'm getting ready to replace my rear tire on a 2013 ST-L. With the parking brake on (normal parked state) the caliper is tight on the rotor. So do I turn the key on, release the parking brake, hopefully this will let the caliper drop off, re-set the parking brake...

Starting a Spyder off of a battery booster

I purchased a Rugged Geek Boost starter recommended by Lamonster. I could not get it to start my 2013 ST-L. I contacted Rugged Geek and they sent me another one. It too will not turn over the Sypder engine but it will start my F-150. I have hooked it up to the jump points on the LHS and...

    Air Filter Removal

My manual says to access the air filter you have to remove the console assembly including the windshield and mirrors, gauge cluster and a bunch of other stuff. Is this really necessary? There must be an easier way to replace the air filter. I did a search but didn't see any help. Best Tom

    991 or 998?

I have the 2013 ST-L. The book says it has a 991 Rotax. However it seems almost all references to this motor mention 998. Did it change in 2014 to 998? Why did they add only 7 cubic centimeters? Were there other differences other than displacement? Thanks

    Tupperware torx screws

Does anyone know of a source to get replacement Tupperware torx screws? I know they fit a T-30 torx socket but what is the thread designation? They are not zinc plated but a darker color.

What the Heck did I do wrong? Oil Change

Changed the oil on my 2103 ST-L SE5 today. Thought I had followed the manual exactly. Replaced both filters. Added 3.2 quarts of oil. Ran it, verified oil pressure light went off, no leaks. Added the rest of the 1 quart container for a total of 4 quarts. Ran it on the stands for another couple...

    Thanks Guys and thanks BRP

I purchased a 2013 ST Limited several weeks ago. After digging around on this forum I found there was a goodwill (not official rebate) change to the plastic covers for customers who complained of heat issues. Being the second owner I didn't think BRP would go for it but I took it to Daytona Fun...

Oil Change on a 2013 ST

Can anyone recommend a good link showing oil change details? Part numbers and how/which panels to remove. Is the ST different from the RT? I purchased this: Can-Am Spyder Oil Filter Kit w/Extended Trans SE5 GS, ST, RT, RS, RSS 2008-2016from BajaRon
