• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Knowing when to run!

Last year I had the evil red dusted front sprocket but noticed it in time and had it replaced at 18,778 miles. Today while out riding my 2nd front sprocket ground out but this time it left me stranded at 31,500 miles. No red dust, no warning........just 2 seconds of grinding then coasted a few...

    30,000 mile review.......sweet-n-simple

Can-Am Spyder 2016 F3s Special SE6 Rummaged through my receipts and decided to keep track of my Spider’s journey. Unless noted, all accessories were installed by myself. 1. 01/20/2017 2016 F3s SE6 purchased new, zero miles ($20,800.00) 2. 01/20/2017 Heat Grips, BRP backrest, Floorboards...

BRP Idler Failure....DONT BEAT ME UP

My bike needed tires, break pads, fluids, spark plugs, filters etcetera. (27,000 mile overhaul $$$$$$) I asked my dealer to replace my trusted BRP idler because 25,000 miles is a lot to ask considering the abuse it takes. After an hour he comes out and tells me replacing the BRP idler was a good...

Summer house cleaning....to suck or blow?

Decided today to clean my F3s radiators from all the bug debris. My F3s has about 25,000 trouble free miles on it.....and want it to stay that way. I was undecided whether I could suck out the dead bugs with my wet/dry vacuum or blow them out with my compressor. I found doing both was best. I...

    Going Blind....not really

Currently I wear 1.25 mag reading glasses. My Garmin GPS sits on a ramline ball mount on my F3s. If I wear my reading glasses the GPS is crystal clear but the road is blurry. If I don't wear my reading glasses the GPS is blurry but the road is clear. Other then going with bi-focal glasses are...

    Checking your equipment

About 10 years ago I bought a vulcanizing tire repair kit and stored it in my bike. While on an MC trip a few days ago while gassing up a rider came in and said he had a flat. Finally! (I thought) I would get a chance to open the sealed package and test my tire repair kit. Long story...

    Americade is dead

Rode up to Americade to spend the weekend gazing at the bikes, looking at some venders, eating great food and enjoying good MC conversations. I have been attending Americade for the last 22 years and its been going dowhill the last ten years. Too much commercialization of what used to be a...

    20,000 mile review.....sweet and simple.

I purchased my new 2016 F3s Special February 2017, it had ZERO miles on it. I did a 10,000 mile review, no issues reported then. Today I hit 20,000 miles so I figured I'd burn a few minutes of my time and post my findings. All my services were performed by my dealer who has done an excellent...

    Cold weather riding

I'm planning on visiting family for Thanksgiving. I would love to ride there but its 300 miles (one way) in 40-50 degree weather, some of it in rain. Am I pushing it too far? .........or should I just jump into my coffin (car)? I have lots of good cold weather gear but even the best...

    Epic GPS failure

Out riding and noticed my Garmin GPS was dead. I went home and plugged it first into my PC and then into a wall charger.....still dead. I decided to leave it plugged into the wall outlet overnight as an extra attempt to save it before I tossed it. The next day it turned on and here is...

F3s vs F3 Touring noise level?

I was at a Can-Am dealer yesterday and noticed the muffler is twice the size on a F3 Touring model compared to my F3s. Is this just for looks or is the exhaust noise greatly reduced on the touring edition?

    Oil leak or gravity?

I pulled into my garage and my bike started to smoke something fierce. I looked underneath and there was a small amount of oil over parts of the engine. I checked the dipstick and my level is fine but noticed my filler/dipstick tube was soaking wet with oil. Earlier I had to hard brake...

    Funny Story

Yesterday I traveled to NYC for a business venture. It's a 250 mile roundtrip and since it was a beautiful day I figured I would take my Spyder and make a day of it. I arrived in the early afternoon and needed lunch so I went to Katz deli on Houston street in lower NYC. I highly recommend...

Idler and what the magnifying glass saw.

Sorry about starting a new thread but I think the topic has transformed into a DIY idler fix-it thread. I went out into my garage and removed the nylon roller off my BRP idler. As previously stated I'm hovering around 10,000 miles on my dealer installed BRP idler. I felt as do many that the...

    First 10,000 mile review. (sweet-n-simple)

I bought my beast new this past February. Since then I managed 10,000 miles. I thought it would be nice to share my thoughts with everyone. Sweet-n-simple.... 1. No mechanical issues whatsoever. 2. My dealer installed the BRP idler around 2,000 miles, no...

    Covered in MUCK

I'm looking for a full rear wheel cover on my F3s. The rear fender needs to cover the front of the tire as well to keep the muck off my ryde. The BRP website offers smaller rear fenders but none larger. Are there any alternatives out there?

    Parking Brake

What happens if I press my parking brake when the bike is moving? I want to see what would happen but I don't want to damage my ryde. If someone has the time and both medical/bike insurance please press it at speed and see what happens and post feedback. :yikes:

    Who blows their ryde?

I just finished washing my ryde, took out my leaf blower and blew it dry. I hate those micro abrasions cloth causes from dirt getting caught in them. I also don't go crazy when I clean my ryde....rinse-soap-rinse-blow. Who else blow dries their ryde or do you use old towels or fancy and...

Dealers Dealers everywhere......who's the fairest of them all.

A good dealer can make or break a love affair with any ryde in a heartbeat. Anyone can sell a ryde but a quality dealer keeps you happy, and coming back. I've noticed in other threads the issues people had with their ryde were mostly the failure of the service department, unable to find or...
