• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    non-forward sloping seat...

Does anyone know if the ST seat sits straighter in comparison to the comfort seat? I have a 2008 GS/RS and love it...but with long trips, the forward sloping seat is very uncomfortable. I'm not really interested in a corbin or 1000.00 seat...just wondering if the ST or similar can do the job...

Shout Out to Jim and his Belt Tensioner...

I bought the Belt Tensioner from Jim a little over a month ago and finally got around to installing it (a bit busy my way)...before doing so, I had a few nice conversations with him on the phone. I elicited the help of a HD buddy of mine as I didn't want to miss anything (he's a lot more...

Madstad Engineering...a step above the rest...

I had been looking for a new shield for my Spyder for some time and I decided on the Madstad. Mark and Patty are class acts and they know their stuff. I have had the shield since last fall and I recently had a small problem that I created for myself. I stupidly went to touch up some of the...

    I think this proves itself...

http://news.yahoo.com/ny-motorcyclist-dies-ride-protesting-helmet-law-143217859.html This is sad but it proves the point. If you don't wear a helmet, you should not ask for any public funding/healthcare for your extended hospital stay, should you need one...there has to be some personal...

    fix for vibrating mirrors...

I might be onto something that will significantly reduce or eliminate the vibrating mirror issue. Regardless of whether you have the KM or ESI product, or just run stock, vibrating mirrors are a PITA. So, I'm working on something. Will it work? Time will tell...need a couple of weeks to work...

    loose hindle rivet solution?

Okay, call me simple, but this is working perfectly. I had the rivets replaced on my hindle heat shield last year at my dealership because they were loosening. They are still intact....no issues. However, the more proximal, smaller shield started loosening (of course)...I put some loctite...

Fastest 0-60 times on a Spyder...

I know the Spyder GS/RS is 0-60 mph in 4.5 out of the box...no idea what the RT is but I'll assume it's slower due to it's size and engine config. Anyway, what's the fastest 0-60 anyone has clocked a Spyder at, regardless of mods?

    Interesting Comfort Seat issue...

So, I've been riding and it's been HOT here in MD... Anyway, after a ride, I put my bike in the garage, lift the seat, and hook up the Battery Tender. Last week, I noticed that two of the rubber 'pegs' had come out from under the bottom of the comfort seat...odd...must have been really hot...

    4th vs. 5th gear discussion

Well, I know many here run their bikes in 4th gear when on the highway...just want to report on that. I usually run in 5th gear anytime I'm up and over 55 mph. I decided to run it in 4th gear up until 65-70, just to see how it would feel. 1. The bike is louder (this is obvious) 2. The...

    Another plug for Brightsides!

I was working on the bike the other day with a buddy of mine and we installed ESI's Brightsides (GS/RS version). My garage was probably no warmer than 38 degrees, but we used a hair dryer and space heater to warm the adhesive and bike parts adequately to get a good seal. So... 1. The install...

A very special thank you goes out to Firefly for his help with my Givi trunk case bracket application. Ride-On Question...wheel weights and rough ride?

Okay, I've spoken with George Burns about this...recently...he recommended NOT taking out the wheel weights with the Ride-On initially. Well, I finally got the goo into my tires today (12/16), and rode the bike 70+ miles home. It feels like I'm riding on rough concrete...not as smooth as I...

    Those with hindle issues...rivets loosening...

Okay folks, easy solution here. My heat shield was about to fall off and I mentioned this when I was having other work done today...all they did was take out the rivets and put in new ones, a bit wider, it looks...now the shield is tight again and I hope it stays that way. I'm not sure all...

    HID questions...please help...

I ordered ESI's 6000k HIDs to have installed at my dealership and they told me that BRP is against the installation of these, saying that they mess the electrical system up and create major issues. I know that hundreds, if not more, have ESI's HIDs and I need to know if anyone has had such...
