• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    I am now Spyderless

Unfortunately, the time has come. I am not riding enough (for a variety of reasons) to justify keeping the RT. It is a sad day after some 50+ years of riding (11 of which was on Spyders), but it had to be done. One of the major reasons is that the state of the roads on the mid north coast have...

Drive Belt Hole - For Info

I stole this from an Aussie Spyder site. I hope the poster doesn’t mind. It just goes to show how much damage a Spyder belt can take without affecting its integrity. He was a fair way from home (3000km….about 2000miles) when a bit of metal pierced his belt. He marked it with a sharpie, then...

Neutrino and your Battery - Heads Up

For those of you running a Neutrino, this may be of interest….. I never use a battery maintainer as I ride at least once a week and have never found the need. However, I was recently unable to ride for a month, hopped on the RT…..dead. I dusted off the maintainer, connected it, and all OK the...

Any feedback on Kanines after 2 years?

I recently resurrected a thread discussing the “then new”, Kenda Kanines, to see how riders were finding them. Unfortunately, that has created confusion as members are responding to some of the 2 year old posts without realising, for which I apologise……I’ll ask the question in this new thread……...

Some General Ride Height Info That May Benefit Others

I had 2 Goodyear Duragrip XL 165/60 (Made in Japan) fitted and balanced on my ‘21 RT-L today, by my local tyre shop. After a shortish test run, this has fully addressed my goal of clearing serious humps/lumps/bumps (of which there are many) in the middle of our roads, and I find the Spyder not...

    Raising body height via Tyres?

So……a question for the tyre knowledgeable out there. I am scraping the bottom of my RT on our pitiful road repairs out here in Oz. I am in discussions with Ikon re the 10mm longer shock they sell, but as the front shock is at 45degrees, this may only give me a few mm. Since every mm counts (I...

For Slice - RT Brake Pedal Mod Photos

Slice, here are some photos of my brake pedal mod. There’s an “after” pedal top photo and side photo, and the rear of the stock rubber assembly….. Hope this helps…. and to those wondering, I have experienced zero issues accessing and applying the pedal, even in its stock metal form, in either...

Mirror Shake in Post ‘20 RT/F3 Models

I posted this as a reply in another thread, but then thought it may be of interest to others with models that are supposedly fixed via the BRP late ‘21 build modification to address the mirror vibration issue. Well, well, well……Shiver me Timbers and call me Long John Silver. Half way through...

Seat Latch & Support Post Photos for Don60

Don, here’s the photos of the latch and the support post. The white wire is my manual latch opener that I didn’t bother taking off. Hopefully you can see the black cable tie holding the latch open. Pete

‘21 RT - Tall Rider Setup Photos.

Thought I’d post a couple of photos of a ‘21 RT set up for tall (6’7”). This works a treat for me, and might give others some ideas. * Custom Russell Daylong seat lifts me 2” for a bit more legroom and all day seating comfort. * Helibars handlebars rotated well forward (elongated the slot)...

OK - time for some laughs and target practice -

I have just installed Lamont’s new Heim links (To reduce the frequency between the ball heads clagging up) Ran the RT up on the ramps which should be OK to R&R the links. It’s a bit fiddly to get at the bolts/nuts with that bit less clearance, but manageable……and of course, it needs a 13mm...

‘21 RT stock vs Ikon front shocks.

Just for interest, here’s a photo of the stock vs Ikon fronts, setup for my 300+ lb frame:thumbup:. They have made a significant difference when riding over potholes and damaged pavement. I even ran over the pothole that previously caused my instrument cluster (and other bodywork) to dislodge...

Are ‘21 RT front shocks the same Length as '14-'19 models?

Hi Boys and Girls, EDIT - the above heading should say “same LENGTH as 14-19 models. I know there were possible internal changes, but it is any LENGTH difference that I am trying to ascertain. I’m looking to get some front Ikon shocks to reduce the chance of popping my instrument cluster (and...

Instrument cluster dislodged on ‘21RT - any resolution??

Soooooooo. Just ducked out for a short ride. The local council were through a day ago filling potholes so it should be “smooth sailing”. Just in case, I’ll do 70kph in the 80kph zone and keep an eye out. Bugger:yikes:. It looked like a recently filled pothole as I approached, but the far side of...

2020+ RT Brake Pedal for Tall riders

I have posted this as there may be a few tall riders (6’6”+) finding this issue…… A few of you may have seen my issue where a 38” inseam and size 15 EEEEW boots means I can’t get the ankle angle required to keep my heel on the board to softly cover the brake pedal when approaching intersections...

BRP GO - App Update - Any “Music” option?

Hi Boys and Girls……. There was an IOS update released for the BRP GO app 2 days ago. To save me the hassle of deleting my current XT pairings and re-pairing phone, headset etc only to find out nothing much has changed, can anyone who has updated the app tell me if it actually has the “Music”...

‘21 RT Highway Pegs for Tall Riders

The ‘21 RT is a great machine, but it does not have the legroom of the F3. Those who are over say 6’4” tend to have their boots right up the front of the boards, just behind the mudguard. It’s a comfortable position, but there are times on long trips where you just need to stretch those legs...

‘21 RT Rear Shock - New Ikon Shock Installed - Squeak Gone

My new Ikon shock has just arrived, and hopefully will fix the loud squeak/squeal that the ‘21 RT came with. (We are in lockdown, so the dealer can’t do anything). I have the painted and black side covers off, and the scars to prove it:spyder:, but the service manual says to remove the...

‘21 RT Brake mod - One for the brains trust

As many of you know, I am a taller rider on a ‘21RT. The brake positioning presents me with an issue, with my size 15 boots. I ride with my feet right up the front of the boards. Using the brake is fine when I have to come to a quick, full pressure, stop. I lift my boot and press hard. Slowing...
