• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Leash for Sena?

My Sena 10S flew the coop this morning. :( I stopped to put on a jacket liner, and when I got to work I found out why Waze was being so quiet. I'll check the area where I stopped on the way home; maybe I'll get lucky and find it there. I distinctly recall that someone (maybe Doc Humphrey) is...

    USB data port in dash?

I want to install a data port in the dash, so I can plug in my phone or a memory stick. I have searched all through the forums and not found anything related to installing a USB data port. Power, yes; data, no. The search engine ignores 3-letter search terms like USB, so it's not been easy...

Non-BRP GPS mount for tri-axis handlebars

I had my handlebars changed out today, and I didn't feel like spending another $200 on their GPS mount when I only need the support. I think I can come up with another solution for owners who already have the standard BRP GPS mount. The support is a really simple piece that could be 3D...

    STL files for Spyder Accessories?

Has anyone created any Spyder accessories using a 3D printer? If so, are you willing to share the STL files? I've searched Thingiverse and found nothing. I'm having tri-axis handlebars installed this week, and shelling out another $209 for a new GPS mount just grates on me. I have a 3D...

    Fair price for my Spyder

What would you consider to be a fair price for a 2012 RT Limited, 24,500 miles, 2 years left on warranty, in San Diego area? I really need to get this thing sold, so I'm about to post it again in Cycle Trader and bump it here in SpyderLovers. I originally asked $18,500, but reality is slapping...

    New radio interface product

New GROM WirelinQ radio interface product works! <<Grom Audio is coming out with a smart interface cable that will enable iPod-like control for your Android device. It's available now for pre-order for shipment in the next month or so. I ordered the USB-C version for my HTC-10 phone, and I am...

Sometimes I am such a nitwit...

I got flashed a couple of times tonight on the way home, so I decided to adjust my headlights. I got all lined up, and took off the panels, being careful not to scratch them or step on them. When I was happy with the adjustment, I had to turn the Spyder around to back it into the garage, so I...

Ryde your Spyder and get fit!

Last week I got a Fitbit so I can see how much activity I get. I don't really need a gadget to tell me that I have turned into a sloth, but my new company is encouraging us to get fit by giving us a $50/month cut in our health insurance premium if we do certain things, so I figured what the...

    Belt tensioner placement

Hey, I have a question regarding where the idler wheel is most effective and why. SmoothSpyder's idler wheel runs on the slack side of the belt. The BRP idler runs on the tension side of the belt. From a design standpoint, which placement (not product) is more better, and why? Just a ponder.

    Help! Foglight change gone bad!

I cannot get the left foglight cover back on. The airduct is blocking me, even though I have taken it loose. What is the secret?

    Caught in the rain!

I know for most of you this is old hat, but this was a first for me. The forecast said rain maybe tomorrow so I took my new Spyder to work this morning. I grabbed my Frogg Toggs on the way out the door, as an afterthought. I'm glad I did! Fifteen miles from home the rain started to hit me. I...

The devil made me do it.

And that's why there is a new 2016 RT-Limited in my garage tonight! (apologies to Flip Wilson!)

    It might be the rats!

My Spyder is in the shop right now for two problems: a leaking airbag system, and a passenger detector problem. The mechanic called tonight to let me know that he found rat poop and insulation damage under the left passenger handle panel. :yikes: He's pulling the rear section off tomorrow to...

    Promo interest rate discrepancy

I noticed that there are two different promo interest rates being used in current ads. The promo rate mentioned on the Can-Am BRP site is 0%, but the promo rate mentioned on the dealer site is 0.9%. Both are through Sheffield Financing. Which rate is correct? Here are the two sites...

All farkles on hold for a while...

Yup, can't spend money on farkles because I got laid off this past Wednesday. I've already got some job leads, so hopefully this will be a short term temporary condition. At least I have lots of materials that were purchased long ago for projects that I started but didn't finish, like...

    Rain! Finally.

It started raining in San Diego County yesterday after many months of drought. The roads are amazingly slick, which has caused traffic to slow way down.I ordered a set of Frogg Toggs for the next time, but today my Spyder remains in the Bike Barn.

    "Gliding into the groove" sensation

I've put about 2,000 miles on my Spyder, and we're fast becoming friends. I take the twisties at the same speed that I drive them in my truck, and I'm able to relax and enjoy ryding instead of my initial white-knuckled OMGthisthingwantstokillme trips. I have a question, though. Lately, as I...

    Modification of Krikit I gauge

If I remove the lip from the edge of the Krikit I in order to position it in the center of the belt to eliminate twist, how will the gauge precision change? Right now, the precision is not good. It's very difficult to get accurate, repeatable readings because you have to try to compensate for...
