• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It's been fun, but time for change.

I've had a great time with the Spyder, but I had the opportunity to move on to something else. Reno's Yamaha in the south KC area just started stocking Ducati, so say hello to my new ride! It's a 2010 Multistrada 1200 ABS. I'll stop in occasionally to see what's new. Take care everyone!

    Rear wheel project, almost done.

Here's the latest addition. The rear wheel and pulley to match the fronts. The tire is a Toyo R1R 245/35-17 and the wheel is a 17x8. I don't have much clearance between the tire and the belt, but I'm going to put a 5mm wide spacer between the wheel bearing and the pulley spacer. There seems...

    Spyderlovers at Zona Rosa (KC,MO)

I was riding my spyder through Zona Rosa in Kansas City on Wednesday evening (15 June) and I think I saw a woman sitting at the Irish pub on the corner wearing a Spyderlovers t-shirt. I did a double take, but couldn't confirm it was before I passed. If it was a Spyderlovers shirt, it's good to...

    I'm Back!!

After a few months at lovely Ft. Benning, GA, I'm finally back in KC. I finished Officer Candidate School (OCS) and am getting ready to start the next phase of my Army career as a Transportation Corps Officer in the Army Reserve. I'm sure it will be an exciting change coming from active duty...

    More Mods

I decided it's time to start one thread to document all my mods rather than several strung out all over the place. The links below are some of the major highlights. Paint- http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9544 Wheels-...

    Better check your fuel filter!

I had a bit of a surprise when I went for a ride this morning. I started it, went in the house to put on my jacket and helmet, and by the time I got back out to the garage I had a large puddle of fuel on the floor below the spyder. :yikes: I immediately shut it off and pulled the panels...

    In-progress Handlebar Mod

I previously had the Spyder City 3" riser block, but still found myself leaning forward a bit too much. The height was alright, but I needed some pull-back. I looked at the other options on the market, but none of them really struck my fancy. I decided I wanted to go with a different set of...

    Kewlmetal Filter

Does anyone know the diameter of the K&N filter in the Kewlmetal filter kit? I can go pull the plastic panels off of my spyder if no one knows off-hand. I am looking to get a foam prefilter to try to reduce the noise a bit. If someone has already done this and can share their experience, that...

    Car Show Today

The Kansas City Aviation Department hosts a car show and cruise night every year that I've participated in the last couple of years. I only shot pictures from before the show really started, because I was pretty busy talking to people once things started. I've always received a fair amount of...

    Ride Wright Wheels

After a day of polishing out the gouges left by a heavy handed tire tech, I have my wheels mounted on the spyder. I'll have to wait for another day to test them out. It's raining cats and dogs in the north KC area today. Thanks again to the folks at Ride Wright Wheels. :2thumbs:

    My Spyder Wheels!!!

I just received my wheels from Ride Wright Wheels. I'm going to have tires mounted on Saturday, so I'll post pics in the mean time. I can't say enough about the wonderful service I received from Sam and the crew at Ride Wright. The wheels are 17x7 bare aluminum, highly polished. I'm going...

    Recall and 2nd Update Thoughts

I know this may be redundant, as others have posted similar results, but I want to convey my thoughts. I had the recall and 2nd update, to include the hose extension for the evaporation canister, done a few days ago on Wednesday. I had the oportunity to ride for a while today and can say that...

XOPRODOX Grips: So Far, So Good!

I used Grip Puppies for a while with great results. However, they eventually split after about six months and I had to endure the stock grips again for a few weeks. I decided to get the XOPRODOX grips, because I like having a larger grip. The installation was pretty straight forward. The...

    Car Show/Open House

Tallant's Hot Rods had their open house this afternoon. They invited all their customers to come show off all the hard work they had done for everyone. Although there were several beautiful rides, the Spyder received alot of attention!

    New Kuryakyn Pieces

I was just looking at the kury website and found some items specifically for the Spyder. I was wondering if anyone had noticed these yet, and more importantly, has anyone actually seen the windshield trim in person. I would like to see better pictures before I commit to an opinion. Check the...

    My Last Mod...

Well, now that the paint is finished and the NMN emblems are on, I guess it's done. Ok, maybe not.... I did wrap the exhaust yesterday to keep it a little cooler under the tupperware. So I guess until I get a new windshield; I am done.;) So here's the list of mods, so far, in chronological...

    Another Quick Paint Update...

Well I just got the Spyder back from Tallant's today and am very pleased with the stripes. I will take more photos once I am completely done with this little project. The only thing left is to put the NMN Spyder emblems in the holes once I get them. I bought them on ebay Monday night, so as...

    Spyder Paint SIT REP

I mentioned the paint work that I was going to have done a little while ago, and thought I should give you guys an update. I'll be taking it back to Tallant's next week sometime for striping, but I think it is looking good so far. I'm pretty happy with the results so far. I think the silver...

Backrest, Seat Skin, and Paint Next...

I just finished another couple of easy mods. I bought one of the backrests from ebay made by Mel's Monster Garage. I know several of you had concerns about it being weak, but after giving it a test yank or two, I can tell you it is plenty rigid. Besides, my wife doesn't weigh much at all, so...

    Etymotics Ear Buds

After reading a previous thread about the importance of ear-plugs, I've decided that I need to get something. I would really like to get a set of ear buds that block dangerous noise, while providing decent audio quality. I'm going to use them with my iPod at first, but then hopefully in...
