• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can Am has a secret weapon to increase and add riders to their family!

Yes, there is a well, not exactly a secret, but a wonderful thing that Cam Am has been doing for years, which is the Can Am riding events held at dealerships and other events. I was vaguely aware of these events but had never thought about attending one because I already had a 2009 can am spyder...

    HALO

I came across this item while shopping for accessories for my can am RS spyder. While I was not in any hurry to get fog lights this looked like a good price. I'm curious if anyone has used this product and would be willing to tell us how it is working. Thanks.

I have blood on my hands...

I've gone and done it. I stewed all week at work and then today I finally pulled the trigger and changed out the headlights on my 2009 RS spyder. The blood on my hands comes from not having enough room to work at getting the bulbs out of their housing tubes. I have scrapes and cuts working for...

Three days riding, 1500 miles, avoiding storm Cindy along the Gulf. Great ride!

I just got back from wonderful trip to visit with family in Pensacola Beach, FL. I rode from Southeast Missouri to Pensacola in one day on mostly interstate (in a rush to see family members and go to the beach)! After a week visit I wanted to take scenic roads back home and see some sights...

    Travel tips please...

Lamonster post earlier that BRP dealers have a nice PAC promotion running right now. It's up to 50% off on selected RS & ST accessories! Since I have a 2009 RS I am interested in finding some bargains. A good time for me to check out some different Spyder dealerships would be on my way to the...

Getting ready for the long homecoming ride.

I have a 2009 RS spyder that I have enjoyed for a couple of years. I ride it mostly for day rides around home. However, I will be going to the BRP Homecoming later this year and I'm thinking about adding something to help with long distance touring and my comfort (I have knee problems from...

What to expect if I attend the Can Am 10th Anniversary next year in Canada?

I noticed today that there will be a 10th anniversary celebration next June for the Can Am Spyder in Canada. It is nice to speculate this winter about going but it will be a major solo trip for me from S.E. Missouri to this event. Has there been any other events held by Can Am at their main...

There was a 50 degree change from the high to low temperature today!

I possibly rode my spyder for the last time this year today. Our temperatures have been on the colder side with highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s. So my ride has been in the garage with a cover on it. However, today our high hit 68 degrees on my spyder temperature gauge! I only had about a...

You don't want to have a warning light saying "Brake Failure" on a trip!

I was traveling across southern Missouri and had a "brake failure" light come on my Spyder dash console! I was traveling to Branson, MO and close to Springfield, MO. I drove to Pit bull and from the moment I arrived to when I left I was thoroughly impressed! I was greeted coming in the door and...

replace o ring on rear sprocket hub.

Tonight I pulled the rear tire off my 2009 RS because I need to replace my rear tire. A big thanks to Bob Finless and Lamonster with Lamonster garage for their videos on removing the rear tire! I will be taking my tire to a tire place tomorrow to have them replace the tire (going from the stock...

Don't leave you frunk open when stopped.

After a year of riding my can am Spyder I have noticed something that I wondered if others have noticed. If I park my Spyder and leave my frunk open in a parking lot while getting things out or putting items away I get people stopping to ask if I need help! It took a a couple of times before I...

Strange wave from another biker today.

While riding on the interstate today I got a wave from a HD biker that was a little weird. There were two riders and the first one was a guy on a HD trike and he didn't wave back. However, the gentleman behind him gave me a hand signal that was not ordinary (at least to me). He lifted his hand...

Need help on buying an accessory.

I need the wisdom of this group to help me make up my mind about getting a CB setup on my 2009 RS Spyder. I mostly ride solo on weekends but I have a brother-in-law that I will ride with a few times a year. He has a CB setup on his bike. He has moved closer to me so we will ride together more...

I got a small surprise when I took my front wheels off my RS.

I took my front wheels off my RS yesterday for the first time (putting on new tires). I loosen the lug nuts on one side and then jacked up that side and removed the tire. The surprise was when I went to the other wheel and tried to loosen the lug nuts I was able to spin the tire on the smooth...

I did it! My first modification to my RS!

I installed a set of Rivco handlebar risers on my 2009 RS this afternoon! I know that this may be old hat to others that have started with a GS or RS and moved on but this bike is new to me. I feel that I am just average at tinkering skills and I didn't have any major problems with the upgrade...

    Newbie question about front tires.

I have been reading on this forum about different front tires for the Spyder RS. I have a new to me 2009 RS that will be needing new front tires soon. I have read about the different automobile tires people have been using to replace their originals. I'm a little nervous about changing from the...
