• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A+ to River Raisin Powersports in Monroe MI (and a coolant tip)

When I read horror stories in here of dealers who don't know what they're doing or take forever to make appointments or keep your Spyder forever, I'm reminded of how lucky I am to have the great team at RRPS. I just had a complete inspection/service done on Spykie to give me peace of mind this...

My hay customer and I got scammed. Can anyone explain??

Does anyone know how technology enabled this worrisome scam to be done? Last week I got a call from a lady who buys hay from me off the field, so we haven's spoken since last July. She said she just got ripped off by the hay guy I recommended to her that morning. I said, HUH? That wasn't...

    Do Spyders have "black boxes"?

At our ABATE meeting tonight, I learned that if your bike has an ABS (anti-lock brake system) it probably also has a "black box". This is the computer's log of every computer-referred move you've made within a certain time frame, although I'm not clear on if it's limited to braking. Hence...

    Cargo stability problem solved!

Chupaca, I got to thinking about your recent suggestion on my "I stumped BRP" thread where I discussed needing a high horizontal tie-in to vertically secure my passenger seat cargo. You suggested a luggage rack. I said it'd just be in the way, but when I mentioned this to the guys at River...

I stumped BRP with this question

Last night, via BRP's website, I asked the following: "Re your New SHAD Rear Seat Bag, can you please tell me the inside dimensions and how it attaches to an RT? Does it strap onto the passenger hand rails? Is there a strap to hold it upright, IOW, to stop it from tilting...

RATTLING - Is something about to fall off??

Early this summer, my 2015 RT-S developed a rattle which is low to the ground and seems to be coming from the rear wheel area, although, at times, I could swear it's coming from the right front. It sounds like a bunch of keys jingling together - high pitched and delicate - and is triggered...

    Fender reflectors seem loose

How are the yellow, slightly curved reflectors that sit on the outside of the top rib on each fender attached? A friend just noticed that the center of the right hand one on my 2015 RT-S is completely loose. The center of left one has only about half the play. They're clearly tacked on at...

Unable to post new thread - clicking on title brings up blank screen

If you can click on this title and come up with anything but a blank screen, do you have any idea what's going on? Last night and again just now, I tried to post a new thread entitled "A Spyder for when you really can't afford gas this week". It includes a photo and URL. When I submit the...

How I spent my Winter vacation (videos)

They graded our gravel roads; unheard of in February! So, for the cabin-weary, here's a video of me taking a spin around the block and running our fields (second video) on my ATV. The original size of both is 720 x 406 pixels, so viewing any larger obviously reduces focus. I recommend...

    Frunks, Sunks, and Runks

When in front it's a Frunk, This cavernous trunk, Yet when it's in rear, It's just space for our gear. And the box on each side, Simply lets stuff reside, Without fanfare or fame, As it too lacks a name. Why is it that rear trunks, Aren't...

The very first Spyder owner was ...

We all probably got the email from BRP the other day advertising their 10th Anniversary Homecoming. I didn't know Jay Leno owned the first one. You guys who've had Spyders from earlier on, most likely did, but for the rest of us newbies, here's what was in the email: "After nearly ten...

Pot Hole Breeding Season in Michigan

Our dirt roads are now In Rut while their pot holes lustfully multiply unchecked until the county graders resurface from hibernation next Spring. So, alas, after one last valiant, land-mine-dodging trek to the nearest pavement for our final (freezing) 2016 ryde, my beloved road warrior...

    Gorgeous Spyder patches

Of all the Spyder patches I've found out there, none match the detail and overall design of Matt Caswell's of Dry Heat Embroidery, website: https://store.dryheatembroidery.com/can-am-spyder-patches.html. I ordered the red RT in his 5" size and asked if he could fit "Spyder Ryder" across the...

Want to put a compass on my RT

Has anyone put a plain old compass on their RT? I don't want to screw around with a GPS system, I just want to put a marine quality (waterproof) compass on my dash. Is there sufficient wiring in that area to screw up the magnetic field? Or could I expect to have accurate readings?

Audible vibration at low speeds and reverse

A couple weeks ago, my 2015 RT-S SE6 began audibly "vibrating" at very low speed, such as in first gear starting out, or approaching a stop. When starting out or doing slow figure 8's etc, my brake obviously isn't engaged, but when stopping, obviously it is. The feel and noise is the same...

How much jostling can Syders take?

Between the dirt/gravel roads that I live on and the paved roads beyond that with their pot holes, stretches of 3D asphalt patching, and just plain cracking/heaving, I'm on pretty bumpy territory much of the time. As I read of all the things that can either make granny go berserk (like...

First bug-gut splats! Spring is here!!!

MI's weather has FINALLY broken and we can ride every day! Today, my new RT got initiated with her very first splatters of bug guts, and for the first time in my 43 years of cycling, I had a windshield to collect them instead of my teeth! What a fun day! I delivered eggs to my customers...

    A skosh more vroom

Having the 1330 in my 2015 RT-S, which I bought without knowing anything about Spyders, it appears I've lucked out. But I've always wondered what the differences are between the 1330 and the older engines, what year they made the change, why they felt they needed the change, and if...
