• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Could you tow a motorcycle with a Spyder RT?

What do you think? Could you tow a 400 lb sport bike behind a Spyder?

Is this bike easier for women to ride?

I've read a bunch of these threads and my husband and I have debated it. We both ride two wheels. When I first rode the Spyder, I had no learning curve. It was fine, on the highway, off the highway, winding roads, no problem. When he rode it, he complained about the same things that most...

    Riding in the rain

I got caught in some heavy rain this past Saturday. I have a 2012 RT. Because of the design of the seat, I was sitting in a pool of water since the water was running down towards me following the slope of the seat. I have been on two wheels in the rain and have not gotten drenched in this way...

    Why the Spyder is awesome...

After taking the Spyder out all day today, I came home and was gushing to my husband about how great it was. 1) I went on the highway myself, doing 80 at times, hit the dealer 35 miles away for a battery tender and to fix the glove compartment latch. I never would have gone out on two wheels...

    Benefits of a Spyder

After riding my FZ-09 yesterday, I was reminded of the benefits of a Spyder: You don't have to worry about the quality of the road Debris isn't as much of an issue Hill at a red light or stop sign? Who cares?!? You have storage, a radio, heated grips, and cruise control Highway? Okay...

    Do you have the CB?

I didn't think people used CB's except for truck drivers. Do you have one? Do you use it to talk to trucks? Do you use it to talk to other Spyders?!? I thought it was unusual to see a CB option while reading the manual, unless this is something else.

    Why don't they waive??

I normally ride a sport bike. Before this I had a Harley. While riding the sport bike, I might not get a waive from the hard core bikers, but most still waive. Yesterday was a nice day with lots of bikes out. I waive to everyone. If I had to estimate, maybe 10-20% waived back. My husband was...

Cruising on two wheels and now three, adjustment period?

How long did it take you to adjust to the Spyder? Background- I bought this so my husband and I could take trips together, especially longer trips. I started riding before he did, so he's pretty new to motorcycles (2 seasons). He rides a cruiser. He went on the Spyder, did not like it, was...

    General ryding question

I'm going to travel from NY to PA tomorrow on the Spyder we just bought, a distance of about 220(?!?) miles. This will be my longest trip to date and I typically avoid highways. Tomorrow will be mostly highways. My Spyder RT experience has been two demo rides on back roads, a few miles at a...

What other forums are you on (hobbies)?

Besides here and the Yamaha forum, I spend time on banjohangout since I play bluegrass banjo, mandolin, fiddle and guitar, but have the most fun with the banjo. Other than that, I'll go on bodybuilding.com once in a while. What are your hobbies/interests outside of Spyders?

Where do you store your Spyder?

I should have thought about this a little more! We have a garage that has my prize possession 2500 mile Camaro inside it as well as a few motorcycles. I can fit two motorcycles on either side of the car. We have a parking space next to the garage. The garage is more of a barn in the back with...

What to look for when buying a used Spyder (2012)?

I found a 2012 RT audio and convenience package Spyder with under 1k miles locally for a very fair price. I'm wondering what I should look for? We are going there tomorrow and if it checks out, I would like to buy it. We were going to get a leftover 2015 from imotorsports, but the 2012 is much...

    Some questions, considering a Spyder

Hello. I'm hoping some of you can answer some questions that I have. Thanks! (1) What are maintenance costs like on a Spyder? I'm considering a 2011 rs-s sm5 which just under 1000 miles. (2) Are the RS models good for all-day riding? I went on a test drive for an RT and didn't love it. I...
