• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are Sprocket and belt issues after just 15,000 miles likely?

My wife’s 2021 RT Sea-to-Sky has done about 15,000 miles in 3 years. A few weeks ago, we started to notice that the belt was squeaking on the rear sprocket – particularly evident when pushing the bike forward or backward without the engine on. As it happens, it was due its annual service this...

Anyone replaced the Saddlebag Release Cable on a 2021 RT? Seen a video?

Has anyone replaced the Saddlebag Release Cable on a 2021 RT? Or have you seen a video showing how it's done (with a link please)? BRP have supplied a new cable under warranty after the original on my wife's Sea-to-Sky snapped, but they did not supply any fitting instructions (and I'm a long...

    SE6 shift paddle sticking... again!

I have reported on here more than once about my wife's problems with her 2015 RT struggling to shift down (actually, 3 different problems caused this issue over the 5 years she owned it!). She now has a 2021 Sea-to-Sky with only 1500 miles on it....and it has started happening again! Out on a...

    Dash cam recommendations please

My wife is keen for me to add a front and rear dash cam to her 2021 Sea-to-Sky. Does anyone have any recommendations, please (and photos of their installation on a 2020+ RT)? I see some include a monitor, but I can't figure out why you'd want to go to the trouble of adding one of those to the...

How to get a Garmin Zumo XT speaking through the speakers on a Spyder RT 2020+?

Like many people who have struggled with the small SatNav display on the newer Spyders, after several weeks of trying it on our 2121 Sea-to-Sky (using an iPhone), we decided it was time to go back to a standalone SatNav unit. Although many people like the TomToms, we have had Garmins for 20...

2021 accessory connector name & wiring schematic

My wife has just today traded in her beloved 2015 Spyder RT Limited and taken delivery of a new 2021 Sea-to-Sky here in Wales, and I've already started working on the accessories she wants me to put on it. I've accessed what Lamonster calls the "Customer Accessory Power" connector near the...

    SE6 paddle switch failing

Has anyone else had a problem with the paddle on an SE6 becoming reluctant to return to the center position? On my wife's 2015 RT Ltd, she sometimes struggles lately to change gear - as does the bike - and we have traced it to the paddle not always re-centering when pressure is released. If I...

PTT switch installation on an RT

I've recently installed PMR's (radios) on my GoldWing and on Joanna's Spyder so we can communicate when out on rides here in the UK. My research indicates that many people have tried to make use of the Press-To-Talk button which Can-Am kindly provides on the RT, but all have given up due...

    Farkling in North Wales

Yesterday, we finally finished the first phase of farkling Joanna's new Spyder RT Ltd. Here's a brief movie of how it looks, just after a nice sunny ride to Betws-y-Coed here in Snowdonia, North Wales.

    OK to disconnect battery briefly?

If I disconnect the battery briefly while farkling, do I need to do anything special when I reconnect it? Or is it best to keep the nanny happy by maintaining the power feed using a battery conditioner into the rear accessory socket (set to always on mode with F6)?

Where IS that front accessory pigtail?!

I'd like to use the ignition-switched power available on the front accessory pigtail in order to switch my FZ1 fuseblock - but I can't find the pigtail! I've read that it is meant to be close to the hole which is pre-drilled in the frunk for the optional "DC12 Front Accessory Plug". Some posts...

Ball joint problem on new RT

Hi all My wife's Spyder RT Ltd has only done 644 miles, but she seems to already be on her second major problem (after the Gear Position Sensor failing last month)! I took the right mudguard off last week in order to install some TricLed farkles. While it was off, I somewhat idly tried rocking...

    Gearbox position sensor malfunction

Yesterday, with the weather unusually mild and dry, my wife kindly offered to fetch me something local which I had bought online (any excuse for a ride on her brand new Spyder RT Limited!). Sadly, on the way back, she suddenly experienced the dreaded "Gearbox position sensor (GPS)...
