• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does any Spyder have Autonomous Braking?

The Insurance on my 2014 RTS-SE6 came due for renewal today, and for the first time ever, I was asked if it had autonomous braking. Heck, I don’t even know what autonomous braking is, so I asked. I was told that it was braking that would automatically be applied if I got too close to the...

    Happy CANADIAN Thanksgiving

Well, today is the beginning of our long weekend, with Thanksgiving day being Monday. I would just like to take this opportunity to wish all my Canadian brothers and sisters a Happy Thanksgiving and to remind everyone to be extra vigilant when you’re on the roadway with either two/three or four...

Retired, or .........? Why does posting rate here drop on weekends?

I’ve been noticing that the number of posts drops significantly on the weekends, and I wonder why. I was of the opinion that more than half of the members were retired, but maybe that is not true. I mean, there is no difference between Monday thru Friday and the weekends, other than church, so...

    A Message for the Moderators

Peter, A.R.Traveller, Anthony and to the others. When I first joined this site, it truly was, as the name suggested, SPYDERLOVERS. Reading half of the current posts, it appears to be either SPYDERHATER, or at least SPYDER COMPLAINERS. I’m not singling out any single or group of...

Supply Chain Problems - Dealer's entire Helmet order Cancelled!

It appears as though the supply chain problem is worsening. I dropped in at my dealers today to look at “NEW” helmets. He informed me that his entire new supply for the year was CANCELLED. No reason given, no explanation....just cancelled. NO REPLENISHING THE STOCK. Thankfully I don’t NEED...

    Shout out to Lamonster Garage

There seems to be a lot of comments regarding the service from F4, so I’m wanting to Echo That Service to the starter of Spyder Lovers, and send a big THANK YOU to Lamont as well as to his staff for the service they provide to their telephone/e-mail customers. I have purchased several different...

    TomTom 550

I know that most on here prefer the Garmin Zumo, but I have the TomTom 550. I have searched the TomTom site with no luck, and I’ve not seen anything on here so I’ll ask. Is it possible with the 550 to view the road/highway that you’re travelling in WITHOUT putting in a destination. All that...

    Breakfast

Spyderlovers is a pretty diverse group coming from different walks of life and from around the globe. I was always taught that breakfast was the most important meal of the day (don’t know if I agree, for me, all of my meals are important) and with that in mind, I’m just curious as to what...

    Outdoor Temperature

I’m just curious, actually hoping that most of you just may make our temperature feel a bit cooler. What is your outside ambient air temperature right now, and do you go riding in that temperature. Right now, at 3:10 pm PST, the temperature is 42*C (107.6*F), and I’m NOT out riding....I’m...

    Price per mile/km

Just figured my cost per km/mile in fuel alone, for THIS year. So far I’m paying out $0.086 for each km driven. If my figuring is correct, that works out to 0.138 per mile. I did not consider dollar exchange rate as that makes no never mind. It’s my cost in my dollar per km/mile. What’s...

FOBO Question - is there an ext gauge to mount on the dash?

Is there an external gauge that I can mount on the dash of my ‘14 RTS that will display my tire pressure readings of the 3 tires. I was thinking of replacing the analogue gas gauge. Don’t know if FOBO has an external display, or ???? My car has a display so there must be something.

    Fuel price still rising

Up here, north of the 49th, the price of fuel is still on the rise. Today, here in Chilliwack, BC, the price for 87 octane fuel is $1.409 per litre which translates to $5.333 per US gal. I wonder how much higher it plans on going? Just thought that I would post this to brighten everyone...

Has anyone noticed, or is it just me

Has anyone noticed that there seems to be an influx of NOT PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS. It used to be that the semi truckers were “professionals” but now it seems that their only concern is to get from point A to point B in the shortest possible time, and to heck with the other highway users. I was...

Anyone heard of GOOLOO Emergency jump starters? Any good?

Does anyone know of, or heard of the GOOLOO emergency jump starters? Are they any good? Is there something better? They appear to be quite small and easy to carry on your Spyder. They’re being sold by Amazon. I’m thinking as a Christmas gift. They appear to be suited for motorcycles...

    TomTom Rider 550 GPS

Using the TomTom 550 GPS is it possible to have the “street” view without putting in a destination, rather than using the default “map” view? I find that the map view is too small and I like to see both the road that I’m ryding on as well as the cross streets.
