• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SPYDER Alignment on the the Central Coast

Are there any spyder owners in the Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo area that have a spyder and have not had a laser alignment? I am trying to get enough people who may be interested in it.

2008 Reset Odometer to Zero at 64k miles! Anyone else?

I was driving my 2008 and was pushing the mode button cycling through the miles, trip miles, hours and time and the odometer reset to 0 from 64,000 miles. I checked after I stopped and it was not one of the trip counters but the actual mileage. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Trailer and Wheel Chock

I am looking at buying a trailer and getting some wheel chocks to stabilize the spyder. Would these locking chocks be ok from Harbor Freight? Or does someone have a better process. I am thinking that it would be easier than using the tie down method. In the manual...

2012 Spyder RT Limited on Sale - Thoughts ?

I was out and about when I saw a 2012 RT Limited for sale in the window of a used car dealership. They want $17,995 and it has 1607 miles. So it drew my attention. Now the debate is whether or not to take the plunge. I am looking for some group thought on whether or not it is a good deal or...

    Sheffield Financial and Financing

Looking at the website for BRP I was wondering if anyone else has used Sheffield? I checked with my credit union and they are talking 6.9% and that was after a call because they didn't want to make a loan on a spyder. Even though they did my first one. For those who did did it really only take...

Another Example of Why Spyderlovers is the BEST

Today a friend of mine was installing four inch risers on a 2010 spyder. I took a ride down to watch and kibitz with him. As some of you know, I do not do mechanics (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express, once). While the instructions as someone wrote are 95% good, there is always something...

    California & the other States

This may be better posted in the CA forum but with people buying spyders in different states, it might be helpful... Currently I live in California but used to live in Michigan. I have been spending time here in Michigan dealing with my mother in laws illness. So naturally I check out the...

3 Wheels vs 2 Wheels - My Story

Why I am going to keep my spyder and not go back and ride two wheels. A few weeks ago I was going home from work on two lane highway around 50-55 mph and it was starting to get dark. I work out at Fort Hunter Liggett, Fort Middle-of-Nowhere. As I look up ahead I see legs walking across the...

    P0707 Code

The other day I was out 111 degree temp going home from work when the instrument panel flashed between the "5" and "E" Then it started with check engine light. No limp mode. Figured it was based on the heat. So I let it cool and went back out later and there didn't seem to be any problems. So...

Engine Cutting Out Driving Down the Road

So I am traveling down the highway doing 70 mph with no problems for over 40 minutes when all of a sudden the engine just cut out and died. I pulled off on the shoulder and coasted down to about 35 mph and let out the clutch, the bike started back up and I continued down the road. There were no...

    Proper operation of a clutch

After reading the do's and don'ts for new spyder owners and the info about using a clutch, I now have a question about proper use of a clutch. If I am approaching a stop sign in 4th gear, I would down shift to 3rd and release the clutch and let the spyder slow down on its own, I would then...

Upgrading from a 2008 for 2012, some questions about price

I am thinking of trading my 2008 spyder in for a 2012 RT A&C SE5. After paying $2000 over retail and $1500 for the extended warranty I don't plan on taking a financial bath this time. Went to a dealer today and they offered me $5000 trade in on mine. They want to charge me $20,999 2012 RT SE5...

    A New Spyder Accessory

So one of my co-workers showed me her most recent acquisition. She is a knife fanatic. I asked her where she got it and she said it was in the display case of the Snap On tool truck. I asked her if she wanted to sell it and she asked me how much did I want to pay for it... I said I could see...

Lamont, not sure where it is, or if there is one; but have you considered a map of spyderlovers members? I know that there is one on the BRP website, not sure how "current" it is.

    Rear Fender is Broke

Well 26,000 miles and now the rear fender brackets are broke. Called the dealer and he wants me to bring it in (140 miles) and then a tech will inspect it...then the dealer will call Western Services who will then set up a claim. They said that then Western will send an inspector to inspect the...

Trading In / Upgrading to RS or RT. Your Thoughts?

Currently I have a 2008 yellow SM5 w/Corbin seat, Evo III windshield, seal floorboards, speakers and three inch risers. While I love my spyder, as some of you know I have had some problems with the front sprocket, master cylinder and rebuilding of the engine. So I am thinking of trading it in...

    Why I love spyderlovers.com

I LOVE THIS SITE!!!! Let me explain why. There are so many smart people on this site who have a lot of important information to share. In my case, I am NOT mechanically inclined, so when I took the spyder down to the dealer to fix the brakes, I decided to have a new rear tire installed. Ordered...

    New Brake Failure

Just turned 24,000 miles and received an error code of brake failure. This is the second time this happened. The first time it happened at 15,000 miles, I was able to add brake fluid and that fixed the problem. This time it didn't work. Had a mechanic look at the brakes and the pads appear to be...
