• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    reverse fixed

About 2800 miles in my reverse quit working. Wettest Seattle winter in years so it had been sitting a while. Service called yesterday to say they replaced the reverse solenoid and all works now. I'd looked at Spyders for years before I bought and didn't buy due to high number of repair...

Won't go into reverse, won't automatically downshift

Bike has been sitting a few months. GO for a ride and reverse doesn't work, then, after a few miles, it won't automatically downshift. Any thoughts? 2015 RT with 3000 miles. Going in for service next weekend. Thanks

Another Way to Keep People Off

I use a cargo mesh from my old Guzzi. So far so good... and compact.

    Wind Buffeting

I've just completed my first ever trike trek on my 2015 RT, and had a wonderful time. http://triketrek.com/?p=220 But.... I hated being on the freeways. I was being thrown about by every gust of wind. Even a passing VW bug, yes, I drive like an old man, threw me about. At about 55 is...

    Trike Trek 1: Day 2 and 3

I'll write more later, as it's late and I am pooped, but here are some scenes from the last two days, with more at triketrek.com. Later I'll fill int he details on the ghost town, the rich guy from the big city who got figuratively shot down in his efforts to restore the city... and a police...

Giant chickens and motorcycle crazy boys

Honestly, I was so excited I could hardly sleep. I’d spoken of a trip such as this so many times my wife would start to get “that look”whenever I started in. “Why don’t you just take a week and go on an adventure?”, she’d say. I needed the right vehicle, and with my 2015 RT, I had it. I woke...

    My First Trike Trek

Bought my 2015 RT Special Series red/black almost three weeks ago, and I have about 600 miles on it. Tomorrow I head out on a trip that will surely add another 900 plus. https://trips.furkot.com/ts/yke8zq This gives a map and outline of my run. I'll write about it on TrikeTrek.com, my...

    garmin 2597 is bad

I bought one for the Spyder today, and the suction cup mounts easily on the windshield. I have short length of line that serves as backup. I'll send a picture sometime. But... I set the Garmin to AVOID HIGHWAYS, then set up a trip from Seattle to Portland. It is a 3 hour ride, but it shows...

    Odometer wacky

I reset my TRIP B odometer today and noticed it now seems to be recording miles in kilometers. The main odometer and speedometer are right, it appears, but this trib B pulled a freak out today. ANy thoughts? Bryan

My first touring ride on the RT

Monday, July 20th, I head off on my first real tour. I'll be out four days on my own, starting in Seattle...heading off on a ferry across Puget Sound, then down the Washington and Oregon coast to Astoria, Oregon, where I'll be staying in the historic Norblad Hotel, built in 1923. The hotel...

    Thank you

I just wanted to say thank you to all the people who post regularly here. As a newbie many of us are spending more money than we have ever done before for a vehicle, and we've all seen a horror story or two. The feedback and advice makes that a bit easier! Bryan

    New Special Series RT

I know people get new Spyders every day, but just an update for those who will head down this path soon, too. Picked it up near Portland, Oregon, drove it to Seattle. I stopped about every 50 miles, and kept it under the speed limit.. as it is break in time..and, riding a new Spyder home, my...

    I pick it up tomorrow!

I pick up my 2015 Can Am Spyder RT-S Special Series tomorrow. I'll take the Bolt Bus at 8am here in Seattle, arriving in Portland Oregon about 11:15 or so. A friend will then bring me to the dealer. I won't get into price here, but those crazy low prices in Chicago and Florida helped me get...

Bought my Spyder! I've been looking since 2008, to one extent or another!

I just made an offer, and it has been countered/accepted, on a 2015 Can Am Spyder Special Edition red/black. I've just applied for the loan, and though my credit is good... 35 years at same employer... 30 years married... 28 years in same house.... I won't believe it is happening until I get...

    for new website

I am making a website to help me in my quest to get a Can Am Spyder, a way to think through and learn all I can through writing. And... I like making websites! So, I am writing a post about the "practicality" of the spyder. Forget fun, forget wind in the hair. Is it "practical"? Can you...

    Too Good to be True?

Usually if something seems too good to be true, it isn't true... or perhaps there is so much extra baggage you wish it hadn't come true! So... what's wrong here? I'd like a 2015 RT special in either silver/black or red/black. Our great local dealer... Lifestyles in Mount Vernon says: 2015...

Saving up, leaving the Guzzi. Pending newbie.

My wife has always been a good sport about my interests. "You want to buy a fire engine? Sure. I don't care." Or a Model T Speedster... Reliant Robin... King Midget... Checker Marathon. Sure. I started cheap, and ended at about $10k, adding a bit of money with each sale and...
