• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any ideas to Remove paint overspray from tupperware??

Here's a new one! In my garage on a shelf an old spray paint can's bottom exploded. Guess it's over 10 years old. It blew across my whole garage and of course my Spyder. Now it's covered with dots of paint. I can easily scrape it off with my fingernail, but we would be talking many many hours...

    Shoutout to RLS Exhaust

I bought a shiny new F3-L, and wanted the cat gone. There are many cat deletes out there but RLS was the only one that was black anodized (or powder coated, not sure) but looked good on my F3. The F3 lets you see everything, didn't want an ugly cat delete breaking up my black chrome F3!

    BRP Backrest question

Hi all, I just got a backrest for my 2016 RTS. I installed per the directions, I know the plate under the seat is correct. However when backrest is installed, it is pulling the vinyl back about 1/2”. I have checked the installation against the picture in the instructions. The locking mechanism...

    SpyderExtras Sway Bar Review

Since we ride 2-up a lot, and not small people, we have been wanting a sway bar. We saw BajaRons and one from Spyder Extras. Having some time to putter at home now, but little cash incoming I ordered the Spyder Extras, since it was like $80 cheaper. Getting the old sway bar out went well...

Can I check software version without BUDS?

I have a 2008GS, and am wondering if it has the latest firmware in the ECM/TCM/etc. Any way to check on the cluster? Thanks! Steve

    Another wheel fell off...

Met up with several Spyders and a Rhyker for a lunch. Rhyker is only a MONTH OLD, very few miles. Gassed up afterwards, and pulling out of the station the front right wheel just flew off and went flying down the road!! Lucky it wasn't at 75MPH on the interstate (earlier in the day). He said he...

2013 At 998cc. I read that someone made a small replacement for the giant air box. Is this true? Any links? Thanks!! Replacing plugs and OMG the pain!!

    P0900 Code: Clutch Actuator Wiring

2008GS SE5 (2 of them in our club) are showing this code once in a while. The check engine light comes on and "Check transmission" scrolls. Usually goes away after warmed up. Problem is, I can't find anything in the schematic remotely looking like a clutch actuator. Usually goes away after...

    Tackform Phone holder Review

Just had ordered this a couple days before MotorcycleDave posted he has them in stock. I had the usual XGrip, and have an iPhone6. When pulling the rubber over the phone it liked to "migrate" up and suddenly the up volume button gets pushed. Not with this thing. Tell you what, it is anodized...

CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK when decelerating - Now what!?

Over the last about 48-72 driving hours I noticed a clunking sound when decelerating. It is in time with the front sprocket. Now it is radical noise when slowing down and when coming to a stop it's a fast clunk then slows. I was thinking oh great after all the money I sunk in this pit the...

GS Stopped Auto-Downshifting, Did I Break it??

My GS has always idled a bit high at cold startup, about 1900 RPM, then drop down after a minute or two to 1500 RPM where it should be. My daughter bought a GS, I noticed that it idled right where it should when started cold. I never had a reference, thought mine was normal. So I looked at...

    I lost another Spyder!

Well it happened again. I bought a shiny new 2016 RTS for myself a couple years ago. The wife wanted to learn to drive it and like a dummy I said "Sure!" Well now that she got her license, she took it from me. I got a speedy 2008 GS to play on. All happy again. My daughter moved back in...

    Swap coil pack for sticks?

Just thinking out loud to the group here ! My 2008GS is still acting up once in a while with the transmission sticking in gear or going to neutral because the Trans computer is locked up. The BRP fix was the grounding of the coils back in the day. I just ordered a new coil for $25 to...

    2016 RTS Hood Woes...

A person backing out of her driveway bumped the nose of my parked 2016 RTS. Hood popped up - the plastic ripped from the 4 bolts on the hinge. When back home I pulled the 4 bolts, clipped away the ripped plastic, trying to get the hood to seat "well enough" until fixed. Got it so it was about...

OK - Another brake code! C0040!

2016 RTS. This one detects a blown bulb; switch failure. Started last weekend, just popped and came up every few miles. Bulbs are OK, so assume it is the switch assembly. Ordered one ($15 or so), its a simple Cherry switch with the harness attached. Then remembered the bike is under...

Transmission Control Module (TCM) Location & Shielding GS/RS

As you all know I have been going crazy and spending crazy amounts of money trying to fix my GS's transmission getting stuck in a gear and going into neutral. REVIEW: 1. Gets stuck in any gear or shifts into neutral 2. No response from paddle 3. NO CODES 4. New gearbox Position sensor &...

Weird question: Convert an SE5 into a manual shift? A tale of woe...

Hi all! As you eat your turkey I have weird things for you to mull over :) I am at my wits end trying to figure out why my 2008GS 998cc SE5 sticks in gear (any) and sometimes shifts into neutral when going from 2nd to 3rd. The clutch feels fine, pulls great, easily does a burnout. When...

    Back from Maggie Valley!

450 mile trip from Virginia Beach, in the sideways rain from Hurricane Michael. Friday and Saturday cleared up but was cool. I had a chance to try out a friends RT(998cc) with a new sway bar. Huge difference in turning and hard curves, front dipped very little. So that's next on the list! We...
