• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Hard to find patches

Just got this in the mail today. It's hard to find large (10" x 12") unique Spyder-related patches. While this may not be most folks preference, I thought it was cool. It's going on the back of a jacket.

Northeast U.S. Trip to Nova Scotia

Hello Ryders! I'm getting geared up for a solo round trip ride from upstate NY to Nova Scotia, Canada in July this year. I'm interested to hear from those who have made a similar trip to Nova Scotia and any advice. I am a relatively new rider (last year was 1st year riding). I will be taking...

    HUGE difference with SmoothSpyder...

Just test drove my '12 RT with the SmoothSpyder belt tensioner. One word... AMAZIING!!! The vibration is completely gone and the ride is so much more enjoyable. BRP should be installing these on all Spyders. Jim at SmoothSpyder was quick to respond to the few questions I had. Installation was...

BajaRon Sway Bar on 2012 RT Ltd

Installed a new BajaRon sway bar (purchased from Lamonster) this weekend. It can be done without removing the frunk, but I was doing some other additions, so off with the frunk. It was an extremely easy project without the frunk. I'm looking forward to the re-assembly and new ride. Now, where...

    Northeast riders...

Is it just me, or did the winter go by relatively quickly? It seems like not too long ago, Christmas eve to be exact, I put the Spyder into hibernation. With the incredible weather this past weekend, we got out and put several hundred miles in the log. Our Spyder has taken its' rightful spot in...

    Farkle time

Brought the Spyder out of hibernation today for some farkling. Added a Show Chrome driver back rest, Lamonster's self-leveling cup holder and his Wiredux Bright tips. The light tips make a nice safety light color balance for very little money. Next on the order list is a Spyderpops bumpskid and...

    Dash Mount from J.T.s

Merry Christmas to me! I was so excited to unwrap this dash mount accessory from J.T.s (site sponsor). My daughter said her purchasing experience was amazing. She called and they hooked her up with everything necessary. I can't wait to install this and use with my GoPro. I'll be busy this...

The Great Christmas Lights Ride of 2015

I was so inspired by a member's post (den1953) today. Due to the unseasonably warm weather here in the northeast, let's kick off an annual Christmas lights ride. The objective is simple: Take an inspirational pic with your Spyder somewhere along the ride and post it (proof of your ride)...

Flat spots on tires during storage

I have my '12 RT-L up on auto dollies in my garage. It allows me to move it around in/out of storage position. Has anyone experienced flat spots on the tires after a few months of storage on dollies (or cement floor for that matter)? Should I "rotate" the tires every couple of weeks to prevent this?

Take your Spyder to work day

Ok, so I made that up. BUT, I did ride my Bronze Bomber all day today. Rochester to Binghamton and back again. I was in a suit, sport jacket rolled up neatly in the trunk. What a great day for riding. Temps were in the 70s. Stopped for an iced coffee in Preble (north of Cortland) on the way back...

    November Ride in Upstate NY

Packed the Spyder away in the garage this past week. However, the nice weather today and coming this week had that baby unpacked quickly and out on the road for some windy air today. What a gorgeous day for riding! It's my wife's Bday today. She thought our riding days were over until Spring...

    Paint Scheme Opinions Please

I'm thinking about a new paint scheme for my 2012 RT Limited. It is currently stock Lava Bronze. I really like the Red/Black two-tone on the newer Special series. But, I'm thinking of keeping some of the Lava Bronze (i.e. top pieces like the frunk lid and trunk). I'm terrible at...

    Proper Switched Power Source

Hi All, I tried searching and could not find a clear answer. If you have installed an accessory fuse block (specifically the FZ-1): a) What did you use for the switched power source (wire color/location)? b) How did you connect to it, did you splice/solder/quick connect? d) "Best" or most...

    Service Bulletin Forum

I have done several advanced searches on SL but have had little success trying to ferret out a comprehensive source of service bulletins for the Spyders. Is it possible to have a central location for this information? If it exists already and I have missed it, please pardon my ignorance. I saw...

    Cooperstown, NY

Hello Ryders! I would like to organize a ride to Cooperstown, NY this summer (end of July). This post is to determine interest. Nothing fancy, just a fun and simple coordinated ride. Perhaps a few groups getting together in various parts of the state and meeting up in Herkimer. From there we can...

Oil change video for 2012 RT

Does anyone know of a decent DIY oil change video for the 2012 RT Ltd? I have been poking around the net but not finding anything completely helpful. I have a good idea of what to do, but would really appreciate what you all think is the best tutorial. Not urgent, the oil and filter were just...

Advice on purchase of 2013 RT LTD

Hi All, Please give a brother (1st time owner) some advice on the purchase of a 2013 RT LTD (1,600 miles). I have read many of the recall discussions. It seems the heat/fire issue is very real, but I'm not sure how statistically significant it really is. I know... it's significant if it happens...
