• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    A deak? NFI

Saw this on the Houston CL: http://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/5246967194.html Not convinced it is a real thing but if someone local wants to check, might be deal of a lifetime. I would ask the owner for the VIN before going to see it and run a VIN check.

    Selling on CL?

Selling a Spyder on CL can be interesting. As soon as it is posted, you will generally receive several offers to buy from people who are well out of your area. Seems like a favorite tool now is the text message. Spyder has been for sale for seven minutes and you will get something like, is...

    Canadian vs US Spyders

Are Canadian and US Spyders identical? California generally has their own spec models due to their extra stringent smog regulations. Recently, someone selling a bike in Canada mentioned they were close to our border. Just for my general education, what is necessary these days to import a...

    Help with part number

On my mini-vacation, I managed to go over a raised area coming out of a parking lot and bent the rod that goes between the shift lever and shift drum. It could probably be replaced by M6 all thread but I want to use the correct original part. I looked through the BRP parts fiche and couldn't...

    how much gas?

Wife and I spent the week doing some riding. I recall all the talk some made about "planning" to avoid being low on gas. Well, when riding in areas where you are not familiar, there are sometimes no filling stations for many many miles so there were a few times where I was running low on gas...

    trailer hitch

I am thinking about a trailer hitch. See the Can-Am hitch is over $500 on eBay and includes the electronics module (whatever that is). I see you can get an aftermarket hitch for about $200. Since there is little chance I will be buying a Can-Am trailer due to its insane cost, is there a how...

    vacation spot

Like some advice. I can't take any extended trips this fall due my wife's lack of vacation time. Several times this past year, my wife was forced to use vacation for family reasons and she won't have enough to put together two week until the spring. We pretty much only take trips in the...

    Laser Alignment

I know a lot has been said about laser alignment. I have a 2010 Spyder RT. The factory performed an alignment on this vehicle but as I learned, the method used in 2010 was not really satisfactory. I also learned that a laser alignment can show this easily and that the person doing the...

    online parts source

Checked a couple of online parts sellers and both had ridiculous shipping charges. I want to buy a bushing for my frunk where it latches at the top. I imagine this bit weighs 3 oz and one place (powersportswarehouse.com) wanted $21.46 for shipping and the other $13. Any places where I can buy...

    wrap suggestions

I have an all silver 2010 Spyder RT. I don't like designs, tribal or gothic but want to add some contrasting color and was thinking about this design in metallic green. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/album.php?albumid=2828&attachmentid=68571. Just the frunk and trunk. Anyone have this...

Elka Stage 1 initial shock settings

Bought some Elka shocks months ago and then found the springs were a bit on the soft side. I now have correct springs F5.8X254 per Elka tech support. When they told me what to get, I wrote down initial settings they suggested. I am 265 lbs and ride two-up mostly. The settings were in mm for...

    rear trunk latch adjustment

The rear trunk on my 2010 Spyder RT only latches once in every 4-5 tries. Hard, gentle... doesn't matter. My manual is up in my shop but is there a way to adjust the latch so it latches easily and reliably every time?

    frunk weather stripping?

What did BRP having in mind when they installed the weather stripping on a Spyder frunk? I reglued it once and it is falling off again so I ordered a different style replacment from Spyderpops. Has anyone else tried the Spyderpops trunk seal? It HAS to be a better product than the OEM seal...

    BRP/Can-Am dealer inside knowledge

I have owned many Kawasakis and am a member of several Kawasaki groups. I know for a fact that a Kawasaki dealer often gets insider info at a yearly dealer meeting where Kawasaki USA gives them the dope on new models and changes in corporate direction. I have heard several folks claim their...

I have a 2010 Spyder RT with NO radio. This Can-Am kit is supposed to be plug and play and integrate into the current controls/screen. Does anyone know where I could see or download a copy of the instructions? I don't think you get passenger speakers but what would it take to get the...

    Money Saving Tip

Yesterday was a comedy of errors. Went to Walgreens in San Antonio after lunch to pick up a prescription. I was going to take my 2013 CB1100A but it was HOT HOT HOT (96F) so I jumped on my 2010 Can-Am Spyder RT and pulled into their parking lot, picked up meds and went to start the bike and...

    red lights?

Pull up to a red light in Texas. It doesn't change. You can see the road is all carved up for sensors you Spyder doesn't seem to be able to trip. I have always been told it was OK to look both ways and proceed... WRONG. Looking at the TX DPS site I saw this little nugget: No...

    Polaris Slingshot in Texas

Now LEGAL! In June, a new law from the TX Legislature put in place a vehicle class called "autocycle" which means it has 3 wheels and you don't straddle a saddle and it has a steering wheel. At the same time, they came up with a 3 wheel only motorcycle endorsement for vehicles like a Spyder...
