• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone else experienced this Thumping noise when turning? Ideas on Cause and/or cure?

I have a friend with a '22 RTL that has a very noticeable thumping noise during a sharp turn in either direction. We listened to it carefully yesterday both on and off the RT. It is difficult to even tell where it is coming from and does seem louder during aggressive turns and quieter during...

    Fall colors ride

I had hopes of finding some nice fall colors to share from today's ride. Sadly, the long hot and dry summer has left us with very little in the way bright colors this year. These shots were taken around Lake Meredith in the Texas Panhandle. At least it was picture perfect day with a high of...

KUDOS to the folks at SENA

This morning around 9:30 I sent the following message to the folks at SENA praising the build quality of their 10S that I purchased as dual set from Motorcycle Dave 2 years ago. "I just wanted to throw out a little brag about your 10S unit. Several weeks ago, I was leaving a town south of home...

How do I make the trunk 12V outlet always hot?

I've been searching for which fuse to move and/or other things to do to make the 12V outlet in the trunk always hot. I would have sworn I saw this procedure mentioned not too long ago but cannot find it now. I've entered several different word strings in the search engine and scanned through...

Thinking outside the box - will parts swap from 2014-18 to 2020+?

I frequently like to think outside the box on things. Making the switch from the 2014 RT-L body style & top case to a 2020 RT-L and newer is a tempting option. I do have a couple of dislikes about the newer body style though. One is the frunk lid on the old body style is much more appealing...

What's the best music app to use in phone and listen to in a Sena?

My title pretty much says it all. I did an advanced search using "best music app on a phone" that turned up a lot of threads. None of the titles seemed to point me in the right direction so this thread is seeking out first-hand information on what others have used or are using to play music...

For you Texas Panhandle Spyder Ryders

There's pretty popular benefit ride coming up in Panhandle, Tx on May 20th. I think all you Spyder ryders in or near Amarillo should make an effort to do this ride. It is the Blaze Coffee Memorial Benefit Ride that has been going on for several years now and draws quite a crowd. The run is...

    Palindromes; anyone else track them?

I'm somewhat of a numbers geek and regularly track things like palindromes as they appear on the odometer. Here is one I saw yesterday along with a couple of views where it occurred. :f_spider:

    Short jaunt around the lake

For the first time in a good while, I felt like getting out late in the day. I'm still battling postherpetic neuralgia (residual condition of shingles) that's had me pretty much side-lined late in the day most of the time since last July. Yesterday was the best I've felt in a very long time, so...

Stalling when cold--goes away after warm up??????

Our 2014 RT L has been stalling (stuttering) some when first trying to take off from a stop. The condition goes away after a couple of miles warm up and two or three stops & starts. I was reading some other posts about oil level and made sure it was correct per procedure describe in the...

Where might I find Custom fit soft bag liners??????

I've been searching for some custom fit bag liners both here and on the "interweeb" to no vail. Side bags seem to be available, but nothing has hit me as being a good fit for the trunk and frunk on pre 2020 models. Where might I find something that fills the spaces more completely than the...

Still can't figure out how to post full size pictures in a post

Other than better luggage design are the 2020s that much better than a 2014?

I've been considering upgrading from our 2014 RT-Limited to a 2020+ mainly because of the completely idiotic design of the top case on the 2014 to when-ever BRP decided to incorporate a sensible luggage system with a much more user-friendly design of the top case That itty-bitty oddly shaped POS...

I have questions about various model configurations

When we bought our 2014 RT Limited in the fall of 2017, I did not know a whole lot about the various Spyder models available. Now, 5 years later I am still not very well informed on that subject. That said, I am seeking information on models after 2014 that first had a larger, more sensibly...

having trouble getting rear brake pads in place

I did an advance search and have read at least 6 threads on brakes, but none offered a good description, video or pictures of how to get brake pads in place after the piston is compressed back into the caliper while holding the spring in place. Any advice out there from seasoned DIY folks...

A bit of a dilemma on parking brake issue

I wrestled with getting my rear wheel back on yesterday. Seems it was a bit more difficult than the last time I did it. Success was finally mine until I went for a test ride. Now the parking brake appears to be jammed in the disengaged position. Everything else is working fine and the only...

Where to find exploded parts drawings? Installing rear wheel...

Greetings all, I have a bit of a dilemma in my attempt to re-install the rear wheel on our 2014 RT-L. I've watched a couple of the videos here and am still having some trouble. I think having an exploded view showing all the parts might help in that I feel like I may be missing a part. Does...

SELF INFLICTED CHALLENGE--lighting up a GIVI top case.

Greetings from the farside again. Since this isn't really Spyder related I'm putting it here, but this could still be done for those adding an after-market top case to their Spyder. As some of you may recall, I kind of think outside the box when modifying things. Well, this new challenge is...
