• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Ruined a scammer's day.

Ruined a scammer's day. I work very closely with Veterans in need. Today I got a frantic call from a guy claiming to be a Veteran who was down on his luck and needed $450, otherwise he was getting kicked out of his motel. There's some more details, but we don't have time for BS. Anyhow, he...

    Recall on lettuce

I just heard on the news there is another recall on lettuce. Seems like there are 4 healthy food recalls each year. Have you ever heard of a recall on bacon? Think about it.

    Am I gone or not?

Everyone, I just sold my 2011 RTS to a very nice lady from Georgia. Her name is Kathy and I told her to introduce herself on SL and let all of you know she bought my Spyder. It was a cold misty-rainy day when we made the deal. She let her husband ride it home (4 hours) and she drove the car...

    Where did my messages go?

I was looking in my inbox for an older message, but could not find it. Above the inbox, a note states I have 13 messages and 27 stored. How do I retrieve the stored messages?

    Another PLUS for Bajaron

I just did a rear brake job on my friend's RT with Brembro brakes. Bajaron makes a handy tool for retracting the piston. It really makes the job a snap. It's just $15 and I highly recommend you order it when you order the pads.

    Left Multi-function Switch replacement

I have a friend with a 2013 RT-L with a defective Left Multi-function Switch. The MODE button is continually activated. The bike can start and run and all other functions on the switch work. I have confirmed the MODE button is ON continually by monitoring it with my BUDS system. Question is...

    Working from home.

My daughter is an Instructional Designer and made a video about working from home in her brown leather chair. I know these are serious times and hope this short video can put a smile on your face. Here's the link to "Queen of My Brown Leather Chair."...

HowTo: Power ACS compressor from battery on RT-S

Well, being stuck at home due to the Coronavirus regulations has given me time to do some videos. This one is how to add a relay to power the ACS compressor directly from the battery. I have installed a ViAir 97C compressor on my 2011 RT-S to replace the OEM compressor. I've also done this on...

HowTo: Install LOUD horns with relay.

Well, with this coronavirus "stay home" order, I've had time to do another video. I noticed that RICZ had posted a thread on how to install horns yesterday. I don't mean to steal his thunder, but I was almost finished with my video when I saw his thread. In any case, we don't have exactly the...

HowTo: Emergency seat and frunk release cables

There have been several threads about opening the seat or frunk on an RT when the normal opening method failed. Well, with the Coronavirus here and having to stay home I decided to do a video on how to get around this problem. Search for the video on YouTube "Spyder Emergency Seat and Funk...

    Economic recovery

We have a market driven economy; supply and demand. Consider the manufacturing of medical ventilators. The companies making them were geared up to maintain the demand prior to the virus. Now thousands more are being produced to fill the demand due to the epidemic. When this crisis is over...

HowTo: Video, "How to lift a Spyder."

Several members have asked about a video showing how to lift a Spyder, so I finally got around to it. It's about 12 minutes long and show several ways that I have done it with ramps and a MC jack. In the video I state several times when using ramps, they must be secured to the floor so they...

    Emergency Frunk and Seat release

There have been a couple of frunk and seat release threads posted lately so I'm listing two threads that show how to set up emergency release systems for both. The trick to this is you need to get these set up BEFORE you need them. They are both cheap and easy to do. For the seat...

    Rode a Ryker Rally

A friend let me ride his Ryker Rally last night. It was really a hoot. Big difference from my 2011 RTS. It's not a comfortable cruiser, but I can see it definitely has a place in the fun factory. To put the ride in Navy terms, it's the difference between a Heavy Cruiser and a Destroyer Escort.

What Max Temp Reading have you seen for ambient air on your Spyder?

Yesterday I was on a ride and it was really hot out, not sure how hot. There was also stop and go traffic. The temperature gauge on the dash display never went over 102-F. It sure seemed like it should have. Then I started thinking, I have never seen it go above 102-F. Now, is that the...
