• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder transport suggestions

Hi all, With our relocation from New Jersey to Texas, I'm going to need to ship my Spyder and 2 motorcycles. Can't ride the Spyder as I need to drive my car (with 2 cats). Just wondering if any of you have shipping companies you can recommend from personal experience. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to need to change my profile name

My wife is getting transferred to Texas, so I'm going to have to change my name to Txspeedmaster. Moving to the Temple area and I have a question for the group. The closest dealer is in Killeen, Killeen Power Sports. Anyone have any experience with them? Thanks in advance.

    Changing Handlebars

Hi all, I have a 2009 GS with the 1" riser block. I was wondering if anyone has changed to different handlebars as the angle of the bars is uncomfortable on long rides. I know the cover would not work with aftermarket bars, but would this even be feasible? Thanks.

    Question for the group

Having been fighting back pain for the last several months I've decided to have surgery as recommended by my doctor. Having a 3 level spinal laminectomy. Just wondering if anyone has had similar issues and how long it was before they could ride again? Thanks.

Tool to remove Can Am Givi bags

Hi all, I bought my :spyder2: used, and it did not come with any tools. I have a good supply of most of the tools, but it looks like there is a triangle shaped tool to remove the saddlebag brackets. I see a tool on the Givi USA website, but I can't tell if it is what I need. Would the tool be...

Question relating to heat on the LH side

Had the longest ride yet on my 2009 GS Spyder that I bought in November (this winter sucked!), rode for 120 miles. Temp was in the high 70's/low 80's. Had a great time, but my left leg got quite warm. Just wondering if there are any tips to mitigate this? Had no issue on the RH side with my foot.

    First ride of 2015

Finally was able to get my :spyder2: out for the first ride of the year. 34°F, so only went about 20 miles around Greenwood Lake. Felt nice to finally get out. :D

    A Different Recall Letter

I just received a recall notice on my 2009 GS for the gas cap. They gave photos so I can inspect to see if it needs to be changed.

    Cold Weather Ride

Took the :spyder2: up to Cycle Motion in Middletown, NY today to pick up the latest issue of Backroads magazine (highly recommended reading). Temp was in the lower 40's, with the heated seat and grips I was very comfortable. I did not have the usual bone-chilling feeling that I have had in the...

One of My Pictures Used On Can-Am Facebook Post

I was quite surprised last night to see one of the photos of my Spyder in my photo album showing up in a Facebook post by Can-Am. Kind of cool.

    Observations after 300 miles

Just got back from a ride where I put on my 300th mile. Have a few observations. First, this roadster is great in stop and go traffic situations. Not having to continuously put a foot down is great. Next, I'm getting more confident that I'm not going to flip over when cornering. It is...

    New Spyder Owner

Hi everyone, just picked up my new (to me) 2009 GS Spyder. Put about 50 miles on it and it was a nice ride once I started to relax. Been riding motorcycles for over 40 years, so I'm sure it will take a while before I'm used to it.
