• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    California registration

I have a 2013 STL. I recently moved from Arizona to California and I'm trying to get my spyder registered. The lady at AAA told me that they need to find the VIN number in two places on the bike. The first one is obvious. But the second (according to the operator's manual) is stamped on the...

    Just say'n

If you want to come visit. . . . Get on that plane today. It's going to be 89 tomorrow and 91 on Wednesday. Oh, when you come bring a small bag of cool with you. We don't want it to get too warm.:yes::yes::yes::yes:

    Insurance

I know, I know, there has been an untold number of posts about insurance. BUT, you just might want to look into this. there is an article in the September, 2015 issue of Consumer Reports that discusses how auto insurers determine policy prices. It's worse than you think. and, since those...

    New Windscreen

I just replaced the stock windscreen on my STL with a larger screen (4" taller and 4" wider) from Gustafsson (bikescreen.com). In in spite of my ten thumbs and two left hands, installation was pretty easy. The effect was immediately noticeable. I thought I'd toss a shout out to them, just...

What year did they make purple RT's

When I went to the grocery store this afternoon, I saw a purple RT headed north on state route 347. It's the first purple Spyder that I've seen. I'm just curious as to which year they offered the purple paint. Or maybe it had a custom paint job. :f_spider::f_spider::f_spider:

    For What It's Worth.

I don't know if any of you would be interested, but I just got a Bell Revolver EVO helmet from Revzilla.com for 99.97. Two days ago it was listed at 199.95. I confess, after I bought it, I got out of there, lest I get into deeper trouble with SHE who must be obeyed.:yes::yes:

    Slingshot delivery?

I was at the monthly breakfast meeting of the motorcycle club. One of the fellows there had ordered a slingshot back in July. He told me that the dealer had told him to expect delivery at the end of October, for what it is worth.

A muse on my dealer and his service department.

I suppose you are expecting a rant about poor service or high costs. I'll save you some time. This isn't about that. I will say though, that wher I peeked through the window between the reception area and the shop, I spied a tech sitting on a red something.. All I could see was the nose and...

New Spyders have arrived in Phoenix!

I took my ST-L in for its 600 mile service this morning at RideNowPowerSports Peoria. As I was leaving the service department, they were unloading a full semi flatbed stacked 2 high, 2 wide and the full length of crated Spyders. The Service rep told me that they are 2015's. Now we just have...

    What's the max RPM?

I've been out riding my ST Limited, and although I am making a conscious effort to shift at or above 6000 RPM, I finally noticed this morning that there is no red line on the tachometer. I presume the nanny has a built in rev limiter, but how far can I safely push the engine without getting a...

    Dazed and Confused.

I've been reading about the heat issues. And, I getting ready to start working on my 2013 ST-L. My question is, does removing the catalytic converter solve the heat issue. If I do the PitBull bypass, is there no need for JT's air filter. I know, I know. . . Do both. But my wallet says...

    I bit the bullet, today.

Well, after a lot of vacillating and "discussion" with "she who must be obeyed" I committed to buy a new 2013 ST Limited SE5, I'm going to go to the dealor this afternoon, give them myHonda ST1100, sign the paperwork, and join the Spyder Fraternity ( or cult, whichever ). The truth is, I'm...
