• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Front Paws

Just got these front tires mounted and balanced, purchased from Walmart. Best ride ever, makes the Kendas feel like off road tires. Need to wait and see about wet performance. Cost effective and great ride, not sure on tread life.

ACE 1330 - What RPM do you cruise??

Talking flat and level, light wind. I am jaded by 7 years of 998, not sure how to detect 1330 is lugging because it seems good all the way down to 2500. Is steady 2500 RPM bad for engine?

    Clutch slippage???

2013 STS, 998 twin, 44,000 mostly fun miles Lately noticing a slight rev after gear shift up and down; sort of oozes into new gear, used to snap into next gear. Feels like clutch is slipping. Couple of questions, first, is the clutch going to slowly slip more and more, or is there a chance...

Kudos for Bargeron Powersports Jesup, GA

On vacation in southern GA, needed an oil change so went to Bargeron in Jesup. The tech team here really demonstrated technical proficiency, product knowledge, and the willingness to go a couple steps beyond to insure the near and long term reliability of my 2013 STS SE5. The experience started...

    2013 STS Magnesium Panels

So I finally bit the bullet and upgraded the side panels on my 2013 STS. This the kit that includes 4 new panels (2 right 2 left), with the air scoop design to increase flow and decrease heat. The install was pretty simple, and I do believe the heat will dissipate faster, reducing the heat on...

Group Rides - Tail Gunner ???

Been on many group rides over the past 3 years, all fun, some more than others. No news here, more riders means slower progress, delays and greater possibilities of group segmentation and/or cage infiltration. There are many techniques to address the issues of large group rides, most require...

    2013 ST Cannister Available

Took off the emmissions cannister. No gas contamination whatsoever, as I relocated the cannister to be above the level of the gas tank in 2014. I removed the cannister because the purge valve failed and i did not feel like spending money to replace. If someone has a fouled cannister, this...

    Purge Valve Function

2013 STS, recently having some issues with an intermittent fault code P1175. Machine runs well, no obvious degradation. Searching knowledge from SL seems to indicate purge valve could be at fault. Interested to hear if anyone in SL community knows what conditions and when the valve is...

    Mystery Electrical Connector

ST Folks, 2013 STS, during an oil change I noticed an electrical connector hanging down near the oil drain plug, near the floorboard. I can only see the end of the connector, it appears to be plugged, I don't believe it was ever connected on the STS. I cannot see the colors of the wires, but...

Redirecting hot air from the fan

ST Folk, 2013 STS, 21,000 miles, running better than ever. OK, this is not a functional issue, there is no heat problem under the tupperware. I tried to find a dealer that woud assist in getting the side panels upgraded with the increased airflow panels, but 3 dealers played deaf, dumb and...

    Test Rode an 2016 F3T SE6 today

Very different than my 2013 STS SE5, even realizing the totally different riding styles. Only 5 miles, so just a teaser. Better riding posture for long rides, for sure. Smoother ride, less chop. More stable tracking, maybe the additional weight? Less vibration. More shifting, the gear indicator...

    Broken Nanny or sissy driving?

Looking for some info from all riders who tease Nanny. 2013 STS, no farkles to suspension, 17K miles, 230 pounds. Driving style is aggressive, but not foolhardy. I generally take posted curves 5-10 MPH over the posted speed, body lean is about 75% of maximum. I have broken the rear wheel...

    Up, but not out

2013 STS slight mod. After removing the air box, plenty of room. Moved canister from vertical nest, repositioned up above the tank level, fastened to the frame, horizontal orientation. Hoses seem OKAY, is this a problem? Machine runs well.
