• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Lake George 8/27-8/28

Took a ride to Lake George last weekend with Brett and his wife. Some of you may remember Brett from Gatlinburg last year. Brett knows how to pack... the trailer contained a full bar which complimented the lake front rooms perfectly at the Lakecrest Hotel. :2thumbs: Beautiful weather. 550...

    Safe at home from Gatlinburg

Brett and I made it to Carlisle, PA yesterday before we called it a day; peeled off about 550 miles of the 800. Today we were making great time until two of the cylinders on Brett's 1999 Valkyrie stopped firing. Pulled over at a Shell station in Kutztown, PA. Took us about an hour to...

Looking for a :spyder: owner near Santa Ana who has a CHAD windshield. Leo @ Laminar needs to see a CHAD windshield (measure it up) in order to recommend (or make) a Laminar Lip for it. I'm looking to buy one and could use some help, as I'm on the East Coast. Note, they do have a Lip for the...

    Today's ride around CT...

Though it was overcast today, my wife and I had a great ride with friends along Connecticut river. Left Milford and headed North on I91 to Exit 8, took Rt 80 NE out to Rt 154 following the CT river. Came down through Rt 1 and ate at Bill's on the water. 120 miles in all. One of the reasons I...

    DZUS are installed

Installed my DZUS clips today and I'm diggin' 'em. Used the roto-tool for filing the plastic down, and crimped the DZUS to fit on some of the clips. Overall, very easy... time to complete, 30 minutes. No more rituals in removing the front and mid-panels. No more loctite mess to fiddle with...

iPhone apps... what do you need/want?

So, apart from being a computer systems engineer for Sun Microsystems, I'm also software engineer by discipline. In my spare time I've been writing applications for the iPhone, my first game, called "iGuess Numbers," is being reviewed by Apple and will hopefully be available soon. I have a few...

Gatlinburg Hotels... Spyders in the Smokies

Anyone familiar with the Spyders in the Smokies event/location regarding best proximity for hotel accommodations? It's not clear where vendors, evening activities, etc. are and I'm trying to avoid being too far away. I'm looking at the Clarion. Thanks.

    BRP Comfort Seat & Cowl

Just a heads up... The BRP seat cowl doesn't fit the new BRP Comfort Seat. Tried it last night. Note, I've been securing the cowl with velcro (as suggested on this site) to the original seat with great success. It doesn't fit, or look, right on the new seat. So, if you're looking at that...

    New Mods

I just received the new BRP custom seat, passenger extension pegs, and BRP saddle bags. Seat installed, awesome. I sit about 1-2" higher and sitting on a flat surface is much more comfortable. The true test will come on my next long ride. Passenger extension pegs are on. Wife's VERY pleased...

    Whining rear brakes...

So, today I removed the rear brakes with a buddy of mine; sounding like a garbage truck at every light has sent me over the edge  Cleaned them up, about 50% wear at 4100 miles on the pads, greased the back of the pads, and adjusted the parking brake (1-click to engage) with lots of...

    Dzus fasteners???

I recall someone had used them on their :spyder: panels, I just can't remember who. I have two questions... 1. What length are they, 12mm or 14mm? 2. How are they working out? Meaning, are they still a snug fit, or do they rattle? The bolts are starting to get annoying. Thanks.

Which Ram Mount for my Spyder?

I have a Garmin Nuvi 250W. BRP stock handlebars. Does anyone have a Ram Mount on the stock bars? Or on the clutch box? If so, which mount did you get, and do you like it? Since they don't list the :spyder: I'm not sure (a) which handlebar mount to get, or (b) if the clutch box mount would be...

    Nut on the rear wheel?

Okay, silly question... Do you have a nut, or cap, on the bolt through the rear tire? :dontknow: I've just noticed that the end of the bolt has a cotter pin, like it should, but it looks unfinished.

    Can Am Textile Jacket Armor?

I just realized the Can Am/BRP textile jacket I have only has elbow armor. There are insertion slots for shoulder and back armor. Is it advisable to add this armor? Any recommendations as to where to purchase it from? It appears that BRP doesn't list any in their riding accessories. I'm a bit...
