• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Current issue of Rider magazine (Sept 11) has positive review of Spyder and BRP. ;)

    Five wheels

Like many Spyder owners, I have been exclusively a three wheeled addict for three years. That ended on Friday when I was drawn back into the two wheeled world. Not to worry, the Spyder is still here and performed flawlessly on the five day trip to Gettysburg, but my dealer gave me great deal...

    Rehash of old topic

Getting ready to leave for Gettysburg/Antietam and weather report is for mid 90s. Trying to prepare the Spyder as well as possible for the heat and since I have all the SpyderPops add-ons, I decided to remove the splash guard from the radiator side. I took off the other side, but was just...

    Milestone

In spite of my efforts to reach 10,000 miles before Scotty reached 10,000 posts, he won. I tried hard this week, but could only get to 9,600 miles. Sorry to call you out on this, but facts are facts and you are the source of many facts for us. Keep 'em coming. :D

    Needle in a haystack

Tried on a helmet at dealer and it fit better than almost any helmet I've ever had. It was a Can Am TS-1, large, full face, black from 2010. I asked if they could order silver (full moon fixation) and they said it was no longer available. I thought that I would see if any SpyderLovers who wander...

    Bump for Scotty

I vowed not to make unnecessary posts, but when I saw that Scotty was at 8,995, all we need is a couple of good questions and we can get him to 9,000 before the day is done. :D

    Absence

I have been away from the site for awhile. Seven months ago today, I lost my wife. Heart attack at 60 after 40 years together. I visited the site a few times, but did not feel compelled to jump in on any of the threads. It simply did not seem very important as I tried to adjust to the loss...

    Two Relics

Scotty & Nancy rode over to Town & Country near Jackson today so we went to the lake for his first Sea Doo (or any PWC) ride. He was perfect for my 1988 Sea Doo. Two relics, still running. He enjoyed the spray, but does not have the water bug, but then who would riding a 23 year old two...

    Lake Michigan Loop

Returned from four day loop of Lake Michigan. Jackson to Muskegon up the coast through Leelanau Peninsula, Traverse City, Charlevoix, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Cross Village, Mackinaw Bridge (easier on three wheels than two), Naubinway, Manistique, Escanaba (in the daylight), Menominee, Green...

    Service Bulletins

Mine is in today to have SB 2010-1 (sprocket screw torque) and SB 2010-6 (belt tension) checked. Does someone have a list of SB 2010-2 through SB 2010-5? It would be nice to have a place where we can see all SBs listed. I know the dealers are supposed to have these on BossWeb, but so far...

    Dealer Lines

Just learned that we now have a local Spyder dealer 12 miles away. Harley dealer who also carries Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki added Spyder. Sells only bikes and ATVs, no PWCs, snowmobiles or boats. Big HD store and also owns another HD only store about 20 miles to the east. Seems like...

    Should BRP feel slighted?

This month's Rider magazine has the new RT in a full page ad on page 3. It also reports on the HD Tri Glide as "the first factory produced trike on the market". I guess the Spyder is technically a reverse trike, so the description of the HD may be accurate. I don't think BRP has ever...

    60/60

60 degrees, 60 miles today. After 20 days of no riding, what a thrill. Made me forget all the bad issues and just enjoyed the ride. Spyder thrills, Spyder chills, Spyder all the way, Oh what fun it is to take the Spyder out to play, hey Spyder thrills, Spyder chills, Spyder all the way, Oh...

    What's Up?

Is it the weather, health care, politics, constipation....?. Seems to be lots of harsh exchanges lately and the tone is becoming a bit testy. Not the usual disagreements (oil, octane, options), but tongues (text) seem to be bit sharp. Maybe a little bit of Mark Twain's observation...

    So far, so good

Just got back from the 6,000 mile service/DPS update. 60 mile ride home and I kept waiting for any sign of surges, pops, hesitation, etc. Mostly freeway, but also had several miles of city streets. Ran just as good after as it did before. For those who have had problems, was it immediate or...

    Anyone else told this?

Can't wait any longer for 6,000 mile service and DPS recall. Going in Thursday and I doubt BRP update to recall will be out. Hope I'm one of the lucky ones. In scheduling with the dealer, they asked if I had any mods done. They told me that there may be an additional labor charge if any of...

    Temperature Shift

Has anyone noticed how the forum "temperature" shifted in the last 48 hours. For the last few weeks, the temperature has been a bit chilly as many lamented various problems with fires, recalls, cansiters, dealers, service, etc. An announcement about new models and now the "temperature" has...

    Deer Season

Got a deer this morning with the car. Early cool weather (44 degrees this morning) has them moving. Third one in six years, but we do live in one of the largest deer populated counties in Michigan. The violence of the impact and the damage ($2,700) from a 160 lb animal is always shocking...

    Jinx?

It's bad luck to talk about a no hitter while in progress and I don't want to jinx our Spyders, but after 5 reported Spyder fires in July, I did not hear of any more in August (at least not on this site). What's changed? :dontknow:

    He's back!

Hope you have noticed on the logged in register that Scotty is back. Recall on his knee required more work, but good medical dealer and techs got him back on the board. Back on the road will be awhile. Welcome back!
