• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Droptail Traler Questions

I am thinking of buying a Droptail trailer to haul my 2016 F3-T. Is there anyone out there with experience with this trailer and a similar Spyder? What are the advantages and disadvantages? How well does the Spyder fit on the platform? Any problems? Please post pictures.

Fobo tire pressure gauge on the airbag.

Has anyone tried to use the Fobo tire pressure gauge on their airbag (RT and F-3)? If so, what are the problems, and how did it turn out?

    2016 F-3 T Availability

When will the 2016 F-3 T become available in dealer's showrooms? Will the SE6 follow the SM6 by 4 to 6 weeks as has sometimes been the case in the past? I have decided to buy a F-3 T. Now I must find one. It will be my fifth Spyder and presumably my last one (old age).

This 1937 Cord is apparently the inspiration for the 2015 Spyder. Notice the grill.

    Lamonster Garage

The Lamonster garage is wonderous to behold. What a magnificent expression of creativity. This is a man-cave, combined with a commercial purpose, that every gear-head, man and woman, would want to have. It is near perfect. The selection of the building is brilliant. Lamont could not have done...

    Chinese Wheel Bearings

Early in 2008 I discovered that two of the three rear wheel bearings in my Spyder were made in China. The country of origin for the third one (double wide for the sprocket) was the U.S.A. I was not comfortable with this and would have preferred that all three bearings were made in North America...

    ST No Oil Loss

My 2013 STL does not use any oil - none. My first three Spyders used oil in various amounts. This was to be expected. The STL appears to have a much different engine - tighter - I would guess. Why has BRP not told us about this? Hey BRP, this is a good thing!

    Marvelous Engineering

I got a new 2013 Spyder ST Ltd. in early March. This is my fourth Spyder in five years (six model years) - 2008 GS SM5, 2009 GS SM5, 2011 RT SM5, 2013 ST SE5. There is one in each of BRP's three product categories. The ST is my favorite. It is an example of some marvelous engineering combining...

    2013 Trailer Connector

This is a picture of a trailer connector for the Spyder ST. Does anyone know where I could buy one of these? I need a male connector for the cable going to the trailer from the hitch. It is not available at the dealer.

    SpyderPops

Harvey has done it again. He has created a mod for my RT that makes my life better. A couple of years ago, Harvey created a mod for my GS/RS that redirected more ram air to the radiator which improved cooling efficiency. I was impressed with this, but then I didn't pay attention to what Harvey...

    Cruise Switch Kills Engine

I don't think this problem has been reported by anyone else. It must be extremely rare. When I would turn on the cruise control on my 2011 RT, the engine would stop running, just like when I would use the kill switch. It didn't make any difference whether the Spyder was moving or not. The...

    Scala G4 and iPhone

My Scala G4 will not work properly with my iPhone when making or receiving a phone call. I can hear the other party, but they cannot hear me. It makes no difference whether or not I am going through my Zumo 550. The iPhone does other things perfectly, like wireless (Bluetooth) transmission of...

    Changed Screen Name

I changed my screen name from Spyder1026 to WaltH. The number 1026 was the PE# for my 2008 GS. Jay Leno had #1 and I had #1026. As most of you know, PE# 1026 burned to the ground on May 4, 2009. I am now on my third Spyder with more to come in the future. My new screen name references the rider...

    Second Throttlebody Replacement

I previously posted on my first throttlebody replacement after Spyderfest in Cuba. With the new throttlebody, all of the problems went away and the RT ran perfectly until it didn't. Last week, Monday, The RT went into Limp Mode at start-up. It was okay after a reboot. I thought this was an...

    Met JohnnyG yesterday

I was on Interstate 10 in northern Florida yesterday, going home early from a H.O.G. touring rally when I met JohnnyG. The weather was just too hot for me to continue the ride, so I left before it was even half over (something I had never done before). I was cruising along when I noticed...
