• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Error in Shop Manuals

I noticed errors in the 2013 and 2010 manuals in the fastener grade/torque table. If you are using a SAE torque wrench be very careful using that table. I am attaching a screenshot of the table. If the metric reading is below 25 N-m, the corresponding SAE measurement should be lbf-in...

    Spyder Support in the UK

Some time ago there was a thread about a servicemember being assigned to the UK and wanting to know about maintenance support. Noticed today that there is a Can-AM dealer in South Woodford, London that is also doing the ROLO alignment. www.gsjettech.com, telephone 0208-504-0011. Ask for Ian...

    A Tale of Two Bearings

When pulling my rear wheel to change tires I found that one of the bearings was bad (about 26K miles). The three closest dealers did not have the bearings or seals on hand. So I ordered them from Gearhead and proceeded to remove the old bearings. I tried using a slide hammer blind bearing...

    Route Planning Resources

I am planning a road trip and while I was building my route in Base Camp I ran across some sites that may be of use to others. Riding a 2013 RT gas stops are one of my big concerns. I don't want to stop at every gas station I pass, but I don't want to be the guy that realizes the gas station...

Baker Air Wings and BRP adjustable wings

I installed the Baker airwings (all three per side) just before we started the trip. We really like them, well worth the money. But it still gets a bit warm and we had been looking at the BRP wings. Since they were 10% off at the Owners Event, I picked up a set. I believe that they make a...

    New Use for Glove Box

We discovered a new use for the glovebox yesterday. We had some leftover taquitoes and a couple pieces of quesadilla. So we wrapped them in foil, put in the glove box and drove for thirty more minutes. Approximate temp as shown on the display was 90 deg. Could probably have driven thirty...

    Tale of three dealers

Yesterday we were about to leave Idaho Falls and needed some work done on the byke that I didn't have the tools with me to perform. Found three dealers in Utah that were along our route. Called each of them, explained that we were on a 48 state trip and the items I needed done. 1st dealer...

    Great Dealer Support

We had a hitch in the get-a-long on our trip, trailer lights would just blip once when the brakes were applied and then stay off, when the blinkers were used they would blip at the normal flash rate, but not a true flash. I cleaned the connections without success and when I put a meter on the...

Great day today, even with crappy weather. Rode the Spyder over to Outlaw in Edgewater to get Mike to build me a cooler rack. Pretty stiff wind on the way over so I also got to check out how the new BajaRon swaybar worked. Definitely rode better in the wind. Mike did a great job on putting...
