• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Best way of Connecting Garmin XT to GPS Harness - 2016 RT?

Hi Everyone, I have researched this online and on the forum and am not clear on this topic. I am purchasing a Garmin Zumo XT for my 2016 RTS and I would like to power it using the GPS harness that is under the seat. I know that LaMonster Garage has a Plug-N-Play harness for the 2020+ RT and...

Front Sprocket Recall - Interim Repair Completed

After receiving the recall letter in late June, I called my dealer to schedule the interim repair procedure for July 6th. I just picked it up today and what they found was that my sprocket passed the testing with no movement. I have a 2016 RT-S with 6400 miles, so I am not totally surprised...

HowTo: RT-S Black OEM Rim to "Special Series" Rim Conversion

The RT "Special Series" rim that came out in 2015 caught my eye and I always thought that I would like to see those rims on my RT-S which came with the standard black rims. I had been on the lookout for a used set to show up and even thought about buying them new, but had a hard time...

    Helmet Communication System Options?

Hi Everyone, Back in 2013, I bought a Nolan Helmet N-COM communication system for my wife and myself. It has worked well, but most recently, I have had trouble finding a discontinued part for a speaker that went bad and have decided that it is time to just upgrade the whole thing. I would...

RT - Rear Turn Signal Blink Speed Too Fast?

Over the summer, I purchased a 2016 RT-S. It had an LED light kit installed on the back of it which outlined the trunk area and back end of the Spyder. I removed the light kit but noticed that in order to provide power for it, there was a wire connector on both sides which drew power from the...

Hi Everyone, It has been a while since my wife and I sold our 2013 RT-S to upgrade to a 2016. Many of you might remember me from this thread as we made the 2013 as good of a bike as it could be and we enjoyed it for the 4-5 years that we owned it...

    RT Vented Windshield Question

I own a 2013 RT-S and am looking to replace the OEM windshield with a vented one. The main problem I have is that with the OEM windshield at highway speeds, there can be a significant amount of buffeting. It is my understanding that the buffeting issue can be resolved by switching to a vented...

Added a Motorcycle to Compliment the RT

I've ridden motorcycles for the last 26 years before purchasing a 2013 RT-S last year. My wife starting doing a lot more touring with me and we had a Honda VFR800 which was a sport touring motorcycle. After a friend of ours bought an RT a few years ago, my wife was hooked and wanted to make...

Honda GoldWing Reverse Trike - Spyder RT Competition?

I just came across this reverse trike conversion kit for the GoldWing. It seems pretty interesting and I bet it will give the Spyder competition from the GoldWing crowd. I like the idea of Can-Am having competition because it will keep them on the ball - lack of competition is bad. My initial...

    Why I'm NOT Buying a 2014 RT

My wife and I have been watching this car since Chevy announced it last summer. It's a 2014 Chevy SS. As opposed to being a trim package for an existing model, the SS is now its own model. It is a rear wheel drive performance sedan, has an LS3 Corvette engine / transmission, puts out 415 HP...

    Black Clutch Fluid on SM5

I went to move the Spyder out of the garage yesterday and noticed that the clutch lever had no resistance. I checked the ground, but did not see anything leaking. I popped the lid to the master cylinder, looked in, and the fluid was black. I drained it, cleaned things out and replaced it with...

Spyder RT - Custom Rear Fender

Has anyone purchased this rear fender for their RT or know anything about it? I'd like to get an idea for how difficult it was to install as they indicate that there is some fitting and prep work required prior to painting. I truly dislike the stock black fender and really think that this...

    Help Identifying RT-S Taillight Wire

I am installing the AutoTune module with my PCV and it says to connect it to the taillight wire (12 volt power source) using a posi-tap. The following photo is from under the left rear side of the seat. It appears that all of the wiring to the rear of the bike comes from here. So my first...

12 Volt Power Outlet Question on RT-S

Looking at the manual, the 12 volt power outlet that is in the frunk is powered by fuse #6 (by default) and only provides power when the ignition is on. Moving it to fuse #7 will provide constant power even when the ignition is off. I would like to power the Dyno Jet AutoTune module from what...

Making the 2013 Spyder RT-S "Perfect"

My wife and I have now owned our 2013 RT-S for about 6 months and we've put a total of 4500+ miles on it so far. During this time, I had left it stock in order to let it break in and to put on some miles in order to do a proper evaluation before shelling out money for improvements. Based on...

Will Stock ECM Adjust to Aftermarket Exhaust and Cat Removal?

I have a 2013 RT-S and am thinking about doing the cat removal and adding the Akrapovic silencer. Will the stock ECM adjust to both or will I need an aftermarket fuel management system such as the Power Commander V? My bike is currently not running lean and I don't want to upset that. If I...

Reasons to Like the 2013 RT

Since the 2013 RT threads are dominated by the bad press regarding the heat related issues that some (but not all) owners are experiencing, I thought I'd start a thread that points out some of the positive attributes of the 2013. Motor: This motor started out life in the Aprilia RSV sport...
