• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where can I find a better dipstick?

Hello all. Well, it looks like I stripped the threadings on the dipstick. I like to check my oil frequently, and it is a bummer how inconvenient this process is. I don't mind taking off the tuipperware so much, but I think that the plastic dipstick feels cheep and is hard to read. Maybe just...

    High engine temp

Hi all. Where does your engine temp needle typically pointing? For the first 1200 miles, my needle was always right at the 3 o'clock position. After a lot of condensation developed in there, I had it replaced under warranty. Ever since then, it's been pointing almost to the redline. I brought...

    Getting access to the battery

So, I need to jump start my RT 2013. I need to get the panel on the top right inside of the frunk off. There is a pin with a washer around it keeping it in place. How do I remove this? I can't seem to do this without mangling the washer. Thanks! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

    Dead battery - 6V or 12V?

This might seem like a dumb question, but I left my spyder's power on accidentally last night and tonight I was greeted by a dead spyder. The dealer installed a battery tender, but I have never used it. It has two settings... 6V and 12V. I though it would be 12V, but when I set it to that...

    Suddenly Hot?

I was having moisture inside the glass of both gas and temp gauges, so I had them replaced under warranty a few days ago. On my way home, I noticed that the temperature of my engine was running hot. In fact the gauge is just below the redline. Over the past couple days I've noticed that this is...

    MPG break-in

Here is a question: I just rolled 600 miles on my new 2013 RT. I seem to be getting around 21mpg. I am following the shifting recommendations in the do's and dont's, so in riding in the 4800-6500 rpm range. At 21mpg, I'm interested when I hear that over time if will improve. My question: why...

I need a hug... Ultimate seat?

Hi all. I just rolled 600 on my new 2013 RT Limited. My girlfriend and I simply love it. I am 6'2", and I feel comfortable enough on it, although I know many taller SpyderLovers are not completely comfortable on the stock seat. I have heard mention of the Ultimate Tall Boy seat. I don't...

Did they give me the right screw driver?

Hi all, I just received my 3 piece net set from Value Accessories. I am excited to install them. the screws on the inside of the side bags on my RT use these funny star-headed screws ( I know you know what they are called). In the tool kit, they provide a cool double-sided driver with...

    Should I do electrical mods?

Hi all. I know many if you are mod-minded. I feel the urge. I would like to make my RT as visible as possible. So here is my question: 1) will adding electrical mods create other problems with the electronics? I have come across stories of other problems cropping up. 2) will us void the...

What to cover our bike with

I'm in a diner looking at our RT seat baking in the 90 degree heat. What do you use to cover your seat when you park your ride outside? I've seen those half covers, but it seems like a pain and takes away from the cool look of the bike. Interested in your input. Thanks.

    Got a code PO217

I just got back from a 70 mile ride. As I backed into my garage, the screen was orange and said "HIGH ENGINE TEMP" alert or something close to that. I checked the code, and it displayed PO217. Anyone know what this means? It was hot out there... about 90 degrees. The temp gage was about 3...

    Fuel treatment

My dealer told me to put a cap full of gas treatment in my tank every other fillup. I bought Star Tron enzyme fuel treatment. The fellow at the auto parts store told me to use it every time. What do you use? Do you carry the bottle in your trunk? What do you think about carrying stuff...
