• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pairing motorcycle headset to bluetooth-enabled car radio

Hi everybody, Does anyone know if it's possible to pair a motorcycle bluetooth headset to a bluetooth-enabled car radio? I need to be able to talk to the driver of our chase vehicle via my helmet-mounted headset. The driver will have a matching headset (that is already mounted in another helmet)...

    Spyder in front

My wife found this place as a lunch destination for this weekend. Unfortunately for me, I had to work. So she and another friend rode their bikes to check it out. Said they served good burgers and is a pretty cool place to go and hang out. She was tickled when she noticed that the restaurant's...

    HMF Exhaust Repack

I've had my HMF Exhaust for a couple of years now and it has gotten really loud, not that I mind. I like it loud, but the exhaust note was too raspy for me at higher revs. HMF recommends repacking the can every forty to fifty hours of usage and I can tell you that I have far exceeded that! So, I...

F3 Demo Ride at Lone Star Rally 2014

I signed up for an F3 demo ride at the rally and was completely amazed by the amount of power the 1330 puts out. Acceleration was just incredible throughout all the gears I tried, 1st thru 5th. That engine has tremendous torque. During the ride and while in 5th gear, I fell back so I could twist...

Anyone taken the Turquoise Trail in New Mexico?

Thinking about taking the Turquoise Trail from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. Has anyone ridden it and if my Spyder broke down, how difficult would it be to get help? Is there cell phone coverage in that part of NM?

    Amateur Radio

If you have a valid Amateur Radio license, then I have a question for you. Can I use a 20 meter balanced antenna and matching counterpoise for SSB on 80, 40, and 10 meters?

    Broken Spring Clamp

Just wanted to pass along some information: The other day I noticed a nice puddle of oil underneath the oil reservoir side of the bike. So, I suspected that I might have added too much oil the last time I checked it. However, that was not the case. After taking it out for a ride to get the...

    Alvin, Texas Blue Santa Ride

Hey y'all! Last year I was the only Spyder Ryder in the entire event! Got a few less than favorable looks from some of the two wheelers (as usual, it seems). I was sure hoping to see some other Spyders there. You know, strength in numbers! The ride will be on October 13, 2013, which will be on...

    Check Transmission

Hi everybody, Had some unusually cool weather this morning so decided to go for a ride. During the ride, I had a check engine light come on and a check transmission message flash across the display. It did not go into limp mode and seemed to be running as if nothing was going on. I was on level...

    VCM Code C1290

Hi everybody! I had my Spyder's 4600 mile maintenance done yesterday and the tech pulled this code "C1290" from the bike. He aslo said it happened a while ago since it was in the bike's "history". I did a search on SL but did not turn up anything. Does anyone have any information on this code...

    I spotted an imposter!

I was running errands the other day and saw this perpetrator in a parking lot. It looks like a poor copy at best. I see in the closeup that it is chain-driven. I'm thinking about paying the dealer a visit and asking some questions about it. Maybe take some better pictures of it while I'm there...
