• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2010 Recall

Just read that the 2010 RT will get a recall for the brakes, apparently a pin could come off and a complete brake failure could occur. Letter going out today.

    Drops of Gas?

Just came in from a ride and smelled gas after a couple of minutes. I looked under my RT and there was a couple of drops of something that had dripped onto the garage floor. It was gas. There is a tube on the right side coming through the side frame just behind the rad. Got any ideas were it is...

    My Relaxed Pegs

Well, Just thought I would see if my Hwy pegs could be seen. I made them once I saw them in another post but with Elkas I have more ground clearance, 5 1/2 inches so think it poses no problems. I can now stretch my legs down in front of the footpegs but not out sideways as my hip joints don't...

    Mirror Clips

Well, I am on my way south for the winter, Florida that is with Spyder in tow. I had my 12,000 mile service done just before leaving. I was wiping my Spyder down and noticed one of my mirrors loose and after taking it off as it almost fell off in my hands, I found one of the clips broken. Looks...

    New Rear Tire

I just had a new Kenda installed and after talking to a few guys who run lower then recommended tire pressure I have decided on 24 psi in my rear tire and no noticeable difference on handling even at high speeds. One thing I did notice on my new tire even with lower pressure is the high center...

    12,000 Mile service

It's time for my big service plus a new rear tire and those darn rear brake pads are being changed as well. My tech guy has told me he has not yet changed any shims so I am not expecting mine to be any different. It will take some time to get the valve covers off to check them though and the...

    Iridium spark plugs

I have read that the new Spyder uses a hotter heat range plug over the 08/10 models. Can they be used in older models ? I am talking about Iridiums that is.

    Rear tire wear

Just got back from the Adirondack Rally. I walked around to check out lots of rear tires and wear patterns. All of the tires I saw except for 2 were worn in the center more then the sides. That to me means to much air pressure. My RT has always had 28 psi with two up riding and my rear tire at...

    Drive Belt Tensioner

Just got my tensioner from Capt Jim. Delivered here in only 5 days, great service. It is now installed, set to between 10-12 lbs and the results are tremendous! It smoothens my RT right out and it runs so much better at even low rpms. I used to have to downshift before but find that I am not...

    Checking Oil Level

OK, BRP says to get it to operating and idle for 30 seconds. This is what I do. After a run and my engine is hot I pull into my garage and let it idle for more then 30 seconds as I take off the side panel. Once off I then shut it down and take out the dipstick right away. That takes less then 10...

    Florida Bound

Living here in Canada is great but now that the leaves are falling and winter is not far away we are heading south for the Winter. Nice being retired I must say. Destin Beach Florida, here we come. Leaving next week with my RT in tow. We pay for insurance all year so I might as well get my...

    DPS Accidents ??

Has anyone had an accident yet on their Spyder with the faulty DPS units? My first Spyder did have a DPS go wrong while driving and it happened on a strait road, not on a turn and it was a handful to control. Now I must wait to get my new RT fixed hoping it doesn't go wrong until then. Over a...

    AirBox Oil Leak

OK I've read lots on this but never had the problem till now. Why? I do not overfill the oil and only put it the recomended amount. I also check the oil level after a long drive and make sure it is at operating temps. Yesterday was the first time oil has dripped onto the lower fairing by my...

    NMN Riser Review

Just finished my install of the 3 inch riser and all almost went well. One of the cap bolts was different and I had to file the little lines around the head of the bolt to get it to seat into the cap. Only a couple of minutes and the rest is history. The risers are the " BEST ". Seating position...
