• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder by Drone (video)

About 3.5 years ago a fellow on here posted this link to a beautiful YouTube video of his ryde in the Autumn Virginia countryside. Here it is again for any newbies who would enjoy it. I don't remember who the original poster was, but perhaps he'll chime in here with more information. Enjoy...

    Tire picture.

Two photos I made today... I don't have a tread gauge but the original Kenda fronts have one to two 32nds above the wear bar, at 70K miles!

    OEM Headlight Life

My NEW Spyder has burned out three headlights in under 3-1/2 years. Sheesh! My car is almost 16 years old and has only ever burned out one headlight, which cost under $10 to replace. What's a better replacement than OEM for some normal headlight life expectancy? I need replacements before state...

    100K Miles

Yesterday rolled up 100,000 miles in 6 years, 2 months, 8 days. Without ever going anywhere overnight. I guess that, and $1.95, will get me a cup of coffee at the nearest Greasy Spoon. Right?

    Weekend Ryde for Bob Denman

I don't know how far Bob is away from this, but here's his ryde I saw in a magazine:  November 3-4 Easton, PA - if there's anything America loves more than bacon, it's finding new ways to eat it. At Bacon Fest, you'll find it stuffed in pretzels, on top of cupcakes, covered in chocolate...

Aux Input Stereo? Left Channel Only!

I play a SanDisk thru the Aux input with a stereo-jack cable to the 7-pin input, but I get only the left channel; the right speakers are silent. Of course, the SanDisk provides beautiful stereo through my headphones at home. I thought the (second-hand, $21 on Amazon) cable might be bad, so I...

    50,000 miles!

I know I'm no SpyderAnn01, but yesterday I rolled up 50k miles since my first ryde on 2/1/13 (on both machines). After deducting all the days Spydee was all covered up and pouting while we were away on trips, that makes a little over 1,460 miles per month. Without even leaving the local four...

    Oh NO! Another tire thread?

Well, here I am about 80 miles shy of 17K on the Kenda. You can see the wear bar at lower left, but the center is pretty well shot. Still, lotsa miles for a Kenda, right? So I'm looking over my new General Altamax (thanx Mike & Deanna!) for the wear bars, and the little triangles pointing to...

The Day That Changed My Life Forever

No, not my life. Rather, the life of a motorcyclist who lost his wife in an accident, nearly 6 years ago. Click Here for the self-written (well-written!) story about his miracle-healing from severe injuries of his own. And the amazing reason for it! NOTE: this is Looooooong...

    Computer Terms

(This is for Rattigan-Roger and whoever else might be interested. It's a one-page helpsheet I composed back in '91.) Oh, Ware Is Me Computer terms got you confused? They can be interesting when you discover how some of them tie together. Let these definitions enlighten you... Hardware The...

    |Screech Owl trapped under the Tupperware?

2012 RT Limited, SE5. 11,600 miles in 11 months. No winter shutdown. I have a screeching sound coming from the engine area, and BRP has no experience with it so I'm asking if anyone else has ever experienced this... The noise sounds like metal on metal, like a dry shaft or bearing, and...

    Turn-signal switch - FIXED!

As most ryders know, the directional switch on 2012s is a joke. My service tech mentioned after an oil-change that mine was sticking 'on' (duh!) and asked me if I wanted it fixed. I said sure, if it's a warranty repair. IT IS! (They have to get it approved first, and order the parts.) It's a...
