• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Carlisle Bike Fest

If you are attending Carlisle Bike Fest this weekend, stop by the end of rows NG and NH to say hi! We set up our camper there on a last minute "lets do it". Will be plenty warm this weekend, so we'll have cold drinks available and the A/C will be on inside. Look for the Elevation fifth wheel...

brakes bias front to rear - thoughts?

Was just reading in another thread about brake pad thicknesses and how the fronts last much longer than rears. I have thought about the braking system and wondering if there is a proportioning valve similar to a car/truck that modifies the amount of braking force due to load changes, such as...

Who is going to the owner event from Pa?

Looks like I may be leaving the toy hauler at home and riding to the owner's event. Who else from Pa are going? I'm in the Harrisburg area. Denny

Wanted to share one more picture

This pic shows a lot of the week in one picture. Some of the people, the events, the prizes, the food (Lamberts), the weather. It was a great week!

Any locals to Spyderfest that are Civil War buffs?

I am an amateur Civil War hobbyist in an area that is rich in Civil War history, through nearby Gettysburg, Pa. I just brushed up on Springfield/Ozark Civil War history through a few web sites, and found remarkable similarities between Brig. General Marmaduke's march into the Second Battle of...

    mouse deterrant

I put moth crystals/balls in a small cup and place them in my camper and collector cars to keep rodents out over the winter and it works well. I have been hesitant to put any under the Spyder seat due to potential interaction of the vapors with plastic or other materials. The package states to...

    Toy Hauler Questions

Looks like we settled on an Elevation 3612 for our toyhauler, due to light weight, good construction and the features we are looking for at a decent price. After spending the last couple of weeks looking at many different makes of haulers and seeing the same warnings on each concerning...

27 degrees, a great day for a ride!

Took the RT to a local RV dealer today, wanted to check out a new left over toy hauler. It was 27 degrees when I left and 32 when I got home. Wore the First Gear suit over jeans and a sweatshirt, and had my normal composite toe work boots and some thinsulate gloves as well. I had to turn the...

Now I know how it feels- not good at all

Wife and I were out tonight and just about to pull into a store parking lot when my phone rang. My 20 year old son called and started the conversation with "Dad, I totaled my car". I was stunned and all I could say was are you OK and where are you. Turned out he was only a mile from home, spun...

You are never too old for your first Spyder ride!

Was beautiful Indian Summer weather here in PA on Sunday (65 degrees F). Was visiting my Mother and showing her which buttons to push on the newfangled flat screen control to watch TV (again!). Rode the RT to her house, and told her it was time for the motorcycle ride I've been promising. She...

Ever carried a whole pizza home on the Spyder?

This is a question I have asked to other groups and while I have gotten good advice just never obtained a real solution. To me, pizza is a necessary food group that must be consumed regularly. Looking at all the ingeneous items made for the Spyder, there may be a solution. Looking for a way to...

    First Farkles

I am impressed by the amount of "stuff" available for purchase for my RT, and especially pleased with the service of a couple of the vendors on this forum. Pulled out the plastic on Saturday evening very late in the evening and jumped in with both feet - into the baby pool that is, gotta start...

Glove box lid latch does not move

Was away from home and locked the steering for the first time without noticing the glove box lid was not latched. Now the latch is stuck in the unlock position and will not move, keeping me from latching the glove box. I searched the forum and did not find this issue although there were some...

Out for Breakfast, Spyder was a hit!

Wife and I took a little ride to the Lower Swatara Fire Company (local to us) for Motorcycle breakfast this morning, a nice cool day for a ride. It's a smaller event as the local bike breakfasts go, and we didn't even get the engine turned off before we were surrounded with questions. This never...
