• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    HAPPY SPYDER ANNIVERSARY...

...To me! :ohyea: Hard to believe I discovered and joined this site--well before anyone actually owned a Spyder, by the way--four years ago. For all the information, laughs, (and arguments) thanks to Lamont and all my online Spyder friends, several of whom became "offline friends!" :doorag...

    Happy Anniversary Rev. Jamey!

So it's been a whole year since Dragon's Lair Tattoo moved to Shogun Tattoo! Happy Anniversary! :congrats: (And here's a blast from the past...) ...

    New looks...

Smylinacha and HDXBONES both had new looks, but I didn't have my camera since it was a top secret mission I was on down in Connecticut! I did sneak a couple of spy photos of RoadDog's new trike (well, not new, really, since he has like 6 grand on it already mileage-wise) and the beautiful...

    Thanks to all you spyderlovers!

My daughter finished her two senior projects, one in engineering design and one in machine tech. She wanted to thank you all for completing her survey for the Automatic Cat Food Dispenser, and I wanted to show off her machined aluminum, brass and polyurethane camera mount for the Spyder and...

    Hyperfiber?

Has anyone used Hyperfiber with any success? I just saw an episode of Trucks! tv show where they used it to make a repair; it cures in sunlight--no epoxy--or you can use a UV light to harden it. Price doesn't look bad, either. 60" by 12" for $60. Geez. It'd even be great to carry for...

    Dealer Recommendation-Western MA

Shameless dealer plug: I brought the Spyder down to the dealer where I bought old PE #2929 over two years ago. After the last two visits for DPS update and DPS unit replacement, now the steering had a ton of play in it. I have often wrote that it's frustrating when it's not clear if...

    Snow. Wind. May.

I let the dogs in this morning (it's May, remember) and they had snow all over them. I checked the forecast, and it said: A WIND ADVISORY remains in effect through 6pm this evening. Sustained winds out of the west-northwest with gusts up to 50 mph possible. Also, a FREEZE WARNING has been...

    4000 members!

I appreciate milestones, but I missed this one--must've just happened this past month. Congratulations and thank you to Lamont and all the (over 4000, now) spyderlovers members!

    New ESI light idea?

A year ago I picked up a few goodies at the (then NoMagic Neon) ESI booth at Americade. Ev and Jodie were all busy doing installs, and I chatted with Pat and suggested that plasma rods might be nice to put in the air scoops where folks put the BRP fog lights. Now with ESI planning fog lights...

    Don't ride with me!

OK, so now you really shouldn't ride anywhere near me since I still haven't gotten that wiggy wiggy play inthe steering fixed and while I was waiting for a day to drive it down to the dealer, I put a set of Kuryakyn grips on old PE#2929. Yes, I have done this before. Yes, of course I reread...

    steering--spline slip?

Forgive the ignorant steering :banghead: question, but I couldn't find much posted about it here in the last two years: After installing my new seat last night, I hop on the Spyder, of course. I notice a slight play in the steering, sitting still, engine off. Only a few degrees, like...

    Banner Run Nostalgia

It was one year ago that we were planning the third leg of the Banner Run. For those of you who are somewhat new to these boards, read thorough the bizzarre planning, crazy driving exploits, and sheer lunacy of "the Banner Run." Beginning of the day--VTrider's driveway! Daughter bundled...

    Spyder accessories on Amazon.com

So, I guess it means a product has "made it" once Amazon.com starts selling accessories for it. In fact, I finally got around to buying those Can-Am shock covers from them tonight. (Thought I'd get them off RoadDog in his latest garage-cleanout, but noooo...) Anyhow, I hope this is a...

    * Snow in Northeast *

Well, no Spyder ryding today: Up to two feet of heavy, wet snow here in Western MA in the last 30 hours. (Weather folks say the "big" storm is coming tomorrow...:yikes: )

    spyderlovers stats

Every once in a while I notice the sidebar with the statistics for this website. Probably by the time I finish typing this, spyderlovers.com will have hit 140,000 posts! That's a lot of quality information--plus, of course, a lot of spirited debate, personal mocking, and good-natured general...

    Truefire by Spiralus

I have been a fan of "truefire" for a while (though not a fan of actual fire) on motorcycles and cars--now I see Spiralus Designs is coming out with a new wrap. For those who haven't heard, Marc at Spiralus is one of those folks with excellent customer service:

    steering, what else?

Yes, yes--another thread on the steering. I have spent free time the last few days trying to read all the posts here on steering issues and the recall. I am sure I missed some, but this thread intrigued me: it seemed like these 36 posts were optimistic about the effects after the trip to the...

    Handlebar mount?

So I was wondering if Ram or anyone makes a Spyder handlebar mount for my new Apple iPad... :dontknow: I know Lamont might bounce this to the Off-Topic folder, but you gotta admit: If the thing can withstand the vibrations, wouldn't driving while reading a detailed map on the iPad's 10 inch...

    A favor request from jeuchler

Hey, all-- My daughter is hoping to go to the Coast Guard Academy in the spring, and is working on an engineering project right now: They are trying to determine the marketability of a new product that would dispense cat food automatically. (I suggested it could be used for dogs, or even...
