• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Odometer reset to 0

I had a new module installed so that the gas gauge would work. The gauge worked fine but the odometer was showing 0 miles. I brought this to the attention of the tech and after checking with the shop manual, he said there was nothing he could do. The ODO could not be set to the true...

Stopped by my dealer today to inquire about the the axle nut cover that BRP has shipped to their dealers for no cost installation. Surprise, surprise! They had never heard of it and could not imagine BRP doing such a thing. Anyone have a contact point that I can use to get further info on...

    Red SE5 Spyder

The Spyder dealer in Leesburg, FL has a whole bunch of Spyders on the lot. Several of which are Red automatics. It seems that BRP is having a big blowout of demo rides at a really neat mansion on a lake in the next week or two. Catered meal etc. Plus a 50 mile demo ride through some real nice...

    Gas gauge display failure

Filled up yesterday in anticipation of Tropical Storm Fay. After fillup, the bars on the gas display went to 0 and the warning light for low fuel came on. Got home OK and shut off and turned on the ignition several times. No joy. A couple of hours later it worked fine. Today I had no bars...

    Oil consumption

Anyone out there have a Spyder that is using oil? I had mine serviced at 620 miles and checked the oil level after I got it home. The oil level was correct. Over the next 2500 miles I have had to add approx. 600cc of oil. I broke the engine in according to the manual and am surprised at the oil...

    New info re "Premier" group

Spoke with my sales person at the Spyder Dealership today and remarked that some of the Spyder owners were not pleased that the Premier Group had gone beyond the original 2500. He said that BRP had told them that the new number is 5000! What is the highest number on a Spyder that anyone has seen...

    Ethanol blend gasoline

This week Florida went to a 10% ethanol blend in all its gasoline. This was without any warning and the general public is in an uproar. I have been reading horror stories about how this ethanol blend raises havoc with filters, fiberglass gas tanks, and especially with motors with cast iron...

    RPM at idle

The idle speed when new was 1400-1450 with not much fluctuation. Now at 2500 mi it seems to be bouncing between 1350 and 1450 . There is more fluctuation than before. This suggests an imbalance between the airboxes. Are there take-off ports on the airboxes and if so has anyone tried to balance...

Have attempted to change front shock pre load with no success. Have lubed the ramps and used the wrench from the tool kit, but no joy. The handle seems too short to have the needed leverage. Any suggestions? Jack H.
